Recently had the pleasure of traveling to BIG country and catch a game with one of my buddies in the cheese state. I have to say the difference in speed between your athletes and ours in the SEC (Kentucky) is improving with the infusion of great coaches like Urban an SEC guy, Jim an NFL guy and James who is another SEC guy. What I find odd though is how all of them are in the Eastern side.

Now Wisconsin is great but if they go head to head with Alabama they would be run off the field. That's not a big revelation or anything but my concern or question is why cant a program like yours steal any of the recruits from Ohio, Illinois , Michigan or Pennsylvania now that three of those four states are recruiting nationally? Oh and Illinois is a train wreck. We've had great success raiding those states and our talent level has increased exponentially due to our coach refusing to make excuses for being a basketball school, low populace state and having a poor history. Our A.D has finally seen the light and invested in the proper facilities to compete in the SEC. I know you guys love Ferentz but he seems content to play the poor old Iowa card. Until this changes you'll never be anything other than just plain Iowa (not your state, your football program).

Don't be a plain piece of bread, the time to rise up and bury the Nebraska's of the world is upon you. Strive for greatness or accept mediocrity Hawkeyes.

Congrats on your guys' continued success in the rankings of fattest and dumbest states in the Union.

This is rich: advice from a Kentucky Wildcat. The only relevant advice would be how to cheat on academics, admissions.
We're not Louisville bud, I guess you took me wrong based off my Joke in the title. Do you refute any of my assertions on your program or coach? If this is going to devolve into a stereotype garbage throwing contest I won't indulge.

If they played in Madison in November, Wisconsin would win by 24.

Did Wisky not beat LSU last year?
Yes, LSU was severely overhyped much like this year. That was a prime example of a great coach with inferior talent and a rabid crowd beating a really poor game managing coach. Like I said Wisconsin is a great program but if they were to play Alabama it would be a superior talent laden team against a great coach. Different outcome.

Some merit but I don't think Iowa doesn't recruit those stated you mentioned.
Yeah they recruit the MAC level kids, I'm talking four stars bub. Don't tell me they cant win any of those battles either because Iowa has more cache than Kentucky in football circles and we've landed our fair share. Strive for better.

Did you read any of the threads on this board after the Northwestern game?

You pretty much echoed about every Iowa fan on here.

I don't know, perhaps the rotten responses you are getting goes back to the old adage of "We can talk about the family, but no one else can."

Nothing you wrote (about the Iowa football program at least) hasn't been said 100 times before.

Do us a favor and give us the last 20 year history of Kentucky football and list for us all of the 4 and 5* recruits that Kentucky has signed over the same period. That way we can consider your program's results with ours, before we get too deep into discussing the merits of your opinion. Thanks.

What? You think that any coach worth their weight doesn't aim for the best players available. I'm sorry but that's a completely ignorant thought process. The fans of Iowa or any program want to win titles.

Thanks OP. This is great advice. I am going to immediately start striving for excellence. I'm going out this afternoon to buy a better TV. Then, when I watch the Hawks, I am going to drink better beer. I'm going to grill an awesome steak at halftime - I don't care if it's cold out, because I am striving to be the best.

I sure hope that Mrs. 4_Shur joins the effort, or I'm going to have to start shopping for a better wife.

I'm going to stop accepting mediocrity and set a path for excellence!

Who's with me??

we better listen to this guy because U of Kentucky has almost half as many NFL players as the U of Iowa

I already stated our poor history so trudging up classes that far would do nothing. I'm not going to talk about Mumme, Brooks, Joker or any of that garbage. What Stoops has done with Vince Marrow is a beautiful thing. Remember this is Kentucky with zero BCS bowls or conference titles so I'll just highlight our most recent class
1. Lynn Bowden a four star HB out of Youngstown, Ohio

2.Javonte Richardson a four star wideout from Mapleton, Ohio

3.Joshua Pashal a four star DE out of Olney, Maryland

4.Tyrell Aijan a four star athlete out of Mansfield, Ohio

I can't argue the last twenty years, you got me but what momentum or optimism do you hold now for your NFL lineman, Rose Bowl and two Orange Bowl appearances. Does Kirk install the confidence in beating Ohio State, Penn State or Wisconsin in the near future? I'm not mocking your program because I don't have a leg to stand on there. I know what Kentucky football has been but I am very optimistic about the way we are pointed.

The ONLY thing common between Kentucky and Iowa football is your coach.

Yeah it's the same with every forum, I find it amusing when our team loses one game and its time to fire the coach but after a win it's time for an extension. The internet is a weird place.

Like I said I'm not going to sling mud on an internet forum tough guy. Go back to beating people by 60 points playing Madden '18.

Doesn't basically everyone get run off the field against Alabama at this point? How is that a basis for argument.

Ok....you come on a team's message board and identify yourself as a fan of an obsolete program to Iowa fans. Have these two ever played?

You start a thread with the word "Joke" and proceed to knock Iowa's recruiting and coach. You speak of Kentucky fans desire to see a better product, then you claim Iowa is content with " Mac Level" recruits. You don't think Iowa fans want to win titles?

Come on man!

Kentucky? lol.

ETA: My initial thought was troll, but this would have to be some elite-level trolling to have the creativity to rep Kentucky.

Why can't the SEC steal any from bama? BTW we have taken guys from MI and IL......
I like how you compare the (likely) 3rd best b1g team to the best sec team.

I'm not interested in arguing anything. I wanted to make sure that you knew you were in no position to troll another team's forum and question their lack of success when it far excedes your own. You have no credibility here. Try trolling Illinois, Purdue, Indiana or even Tennessee.

Was he mocking Iowa's success or it's recruiting? At least he seems to know where his team stands as a football program.....

Its cool to be stoked Todd but coming into a message forum of Iowa Hawkeye fans and telling them the secret to success was foolhardy.

Did you do that when you visited your friend and how did that go? Wisconsin is always known for its friendly fans.

A lot of more of those "mac" kids in the nfl than your fine tuned kentucky sec players!

Cool beans brah! Recruiting championships are so awesome. You should go commiserate with Nebraska fans on their board. You’ll find yourself in good company. Awesome!

Ok Hawks, I can sense some hostility here so ill try to refrain from "Bragging" about our recruiting resurgence. We live in such a cynical world and it seems the internet is overrun with them there people(Kentucky education you know). Good luck against Ohio State next week. We'll see if any of those recruiting stars matter in Kinnick under the lights( 2:30 P.M).

I like you guys though, it's kind of a funny little mixture of Iowa fans, Nebraska fans, Minnesota, Florida and South Carolina fans.

No thanks, it seems there is enough Nebraska fans here for me to get my fill. Plus I heard a nasty rumor about some weird things in the corn. Too risky this close to Halloween.

No hostility intended, just another well placed dig at our husker friends who like to point out their recruiting successes (but fail to mention the lack of elite results once they actually get on campus). I wish you and your wildcats all the best. Say hi to Mark for me. Or is it Mike? Either way say hi.

You've had 1 winning season the past 7 years....yes try to refrain from bragging. LMFAO
You do realize this isn't the bball forum, right?
I don't follow that sport too much.....totally a joke with all the corruption. I have stated many times we have been putrid but will never apologize for enjoying the success we are now experiencing. I have only pointed out how Mark Stoops has instilled a new confidence into this program. Going into November with a chance to win a SEC title...yeah it's pretty cool.

Other than that I haven't said anything too ridiculous . Good luck against the Buckeyes on Saturday.

I don't know much about that program other than it was really good when I was a kid. There are three programs I really can't stand and they are Ohio State(needs no explanation), Louisville(cheaters and just trashy fans) and Florida(30 game losing streak).
