Riley was a terrible coach. Nebraska recruited 21, 21, and 20 total players in his 3 classes. He recruited 7 WR recruits over that time frame. 2 were really good and the rest busted out. Thats just terrible roster management from a numbers standpoint. He wasnt filling out classes and getting enough guys

Frost for comparison. Nebraska recruited classes of 25, 28, 26 in his first 3 classes. that literally 17 more players than Riley. Riley basically put Nebraska on probation. They only had like 77 scholarship players in 2017 and a good chunk of them ended up being total busts.

OK, but how many of those 25, 28, and 26 players remain on the team? Attrition seems a lot higher under Frost especially attrition in regards to players that saw the field.

For example in the 2017 recruiting class, Nebraska recruited 4-3 defensive players all year and then switched to a 3-4 in January, but kept all their 4-3 recruits. 3 LBs and 4 DL. Only 1 of them amounted to anything at Nebraska (Daniels) and 1 guy transferred to Oregon St where he was a good player.

You're right there are probably not too many left. But that won't stop their fans and they will still blame Riley, his recruiting and strength and conditioning for all of Frost's losses again this year.
