Hillary today gave a speech where she said black babies die at twice the rate of while babies and that was immoral for society to tolerate this. I assumed she probably was stretching the truth and there would be an asterisk next to that claim explained away by aids over the days. But I looked it up and it not only is it true, she actually understates the problem.

"The infant mortality rate for white women in the U.S. is 5.6 per 1,000 live births. However, it’s 2.4 times as high for black women—13.3 per 1,000 births. Surprisingly, black women age 20 or older with more than 13 years of education have a rate that’s nearly three times higher than white women of similar ages and education levels: 11.4 and 4.1 respectively."
The story linked below goes on to say the main reason for this is preconception diet, weight, lifestyle habits. So my question is do we agree with Hillary that this is immoral and what would you do if you were President to resolve this if anything? Do pro life people feel this is part of their cause?

It sounds like a lot of personal accountability issues.

It sounds like a lot of personal accountability issues.
It does sound that way. It was that conflict between personal choice and what some would say was a fight to protect babies that i thought interesting. Do you think personal choice is the end of the reasoning or do you think society should find out why black women are making bad choices and attempt to change behavior?

It sounds like society already knows.

I don't know that government can really change behavior, but I wouldn't be opposed to better prenatal education. Just the risks of hypertension, the fact that you're not actually eating for two, the risks of being overweight/obese before/during pregnancy, and then especially targeting the groups that have more complications.

It is kind of like packs of black teens beating people senseless. At least you're admitting there is a problem.

By the way, plenty of white people are idiots too. But society can call them out without "ramifications".

"Hey black peeps, we love ya but get your shite together."

That works.

Faux outrage from Hill. She's a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood, which is a leading killer of black babies.
Would like some statistics on this, percentage of all abortions done in the US that are performed on black women. And--who keeps the stats..

I think the question for me is if they are like that because they don't have access to better quality food and lifestyle choices or if it's because they choose lower quality foods and lifestyles.

If it's the first then there is something that can and should be done about this. If it's the second however I'm not sure what you can do other then put the word out there to encourage healthier lifestyles.

You mean force behavior change?

My plan calls for all male babies to have vasectomies at birth (Paid for by the taxpayer). The reversal procedure currently costs around $10k. When people consciously wanted to have kids and could afford the procedure themselves, they could pay to have the reversal done and make them babies!

Sure we'll have a terrible STD problem, among other problems, but we'll solve this one by golly.

We could force people to get checked for VD and then ship them out and by golly we will solve that problem.

Crack

Maybe. If you are pro life you certainly believe its acceptable to force behavior change for pregnancy issues. How is this any different?

How would you propose to force the change and what changes? If you cite better and more healthy fetal development as the reason or goal thennnn...... don't you run the risk of becoming prolife yourself. Is there no worse fetal development of health risk than abortion???

Curious isn't it. Why would Rodham bring this up, knowing that over 1/2 of African American babies, in NYC, as an example are aborted. ?? She is one weird, weird, wacked-out dog

1/2? Really? I would think that alone would make zwick and jake Hillary supporters.

I don't have the answer, that's why I asked the questions. But spit balling we could mandate pregnate people get a checkup or receive vitamins or even get put in a birthing facility. We certainly could do things to address this if we wanted to use force. If we wanted to use less intrusive mechanism we could probably find solutions like free clinics and inducements for better food options, etc.

This isn't really a big deal for me, but some people make getting babies born their number one issue. Yet before I heard Hillary speak on it, this issue was completely off my radar. This problem kills about as many babies as abortion, they are very comparable. Abortion hitting just under 17/1000 births and this hitting over 13/1000 births in the black community. I brought the issue up because it would seem to be a problem that challenges traditional ideology. I think that makes for an interesting topic.

Please supply evidence that PP has killed even one black baby - or baby of any race or color, for that matter.
My friends daughter went there pregnant, came away not pregnant and no baby (we consoled the parents and they gave a description of what occurred - without grave detail, PP killed the baby).

Of course, the answer is that its a bit of both.

Gee, you're even tougher than I am.

One of my plans is to let every woman have 1 child. Then her tubes are tied. We see how she does raising her 1 child and only when we have a clear demonstration that she is a good parent does she get to have another.
