List me 5 or some out of state posters in order or not in order you would like to black list a couple weeks and if they continue to flam threads, boot them for good. The problem with this is that posters who really want to stir up trouble will just make up a new screen name and come back under that one. Unfortunately, there's no way to get rid of these screwballs altogether. But I applaud you for trying!
That said, the ignore button is a wonderful thing. If we all just ignored every poster who flamed, they'd eventually go away once the fun is gone.

Eventually they will give in or continue to get banned. It is time to stop all of the attacks on our wrestlers. Let them continue to bad mouth our guys on the mat and their own boards.

Half of those guys are staples from TheMat.com. Compared to what it was just 5 years ago, that board is a shell of itself.
If they break the rules - they're gone. Your of my personal preferences mean diddly quat and rightfully so. This isn't a "politically correct" forum. "Ignore" works just fine.
Personally, I think that unless threats or objectively inappropriate behavior is noted that banning is not really a good idea. I definitely could do without Lemon Pie but the rest are just meh. People shouldn't be banned simply for being asshats or being critical of our wrestlers. For the most part the ignore feature does it's job.
Try telling that to recruits and parents that don't frequent the board or know that it is idiots from other schools. Those guys don't have a right to come on here and bash our team. I hope they ban the living s*** out of them.

I made one bad thread 2 months ago about Stolhouse cookies and now you are grouping me with them? I can't think of another poster that does personal attacks as much as Gablefan73. You started posting here few months ago and have brought little to the forum. Name calling and constant fighting with other posters is considered good contribution?

I'm sure there are many posters who are viewed as a troll by someone else. Some posters post some pretty offensive stuff which sometimes crosses the line of defamatory. And some of these guys are regular posters. If you don't have a thick skin, you end up hating half the posters on this board.

I don't think there are many who have complete contempt for fellow Iowa posters. I might strongly disagree with fellow Iowa posters and exchange a few jabs, but at the end of day I know where they stand--they are fans of Iowa Wrestling. I think most can tolerate this and come to know them as unique posters who contribute here at different times and either accept, dismiss, or laugh at what they are writing.
The problem, as I see it, are those who pop up out of nowhere and pretend to be Iowa fans only to flame out shortly later. Couple this with the near constant flow of pen state trolls and the board is losing it's home team feel. This is an Iowa board for Iowa fans.
FYI, rivals tracks IP address too, so they can match multiple usernames to single ip addresses

The ignore feature is a wonderful thing....Ive been a paying subscriber for over ten years and last year was ready to cancel because of the idiocy on on the main board....ignored a few that really annoyed me instead....it makes things alot more enjoyable...if people that flame irritate everyone lets just get together and all ignore them....problem solved
So if that's the case, Rivals could shut down an IP address. I'm surprised they don't just do that. Probably because it would be difficult to draw parameters for disqualification and too much work to police that aggressively, plus it would conceivably reduce traffic to their sites and hurt revenue.
Some folks definitely deserve to be shut down altogether, or at least be forced to find a different IP address if they want to get back on.
