The losers that troll this board have nothing on 95% of the posters on the Football Board.
Bob's right. Generally speaking, banning IS a bad idea. I can understand Willie's frustration with some of these bozos, but closing this board down to a privileged few is a very un-Iowan thing to do, and very short-sighted.

I guess we need to define troll...is it anybody who is an opposing fan and comes over to tout their team? Personally, there are only a few like Greenwave and his multiple aliases. Every time he posted, he would logon under another name and agree with the original post...like he was getting backup from someone else. So Willie, going to have to disagree with you on this one unless we can somehow get WWDM banned again just so he has to add another W to his name...I'd buy you a breakfast burrito or something to see that.
I'll get the coffee on that. Plus, I heard the next time WWDM gets banned (which would be his fourth or fifth?) he's coming back as WDMHawkeye! which sounds exciting and scary all at the same time.

I understand that some people like to come on here and rile us up with some d*&p#$%t comments, but this is a slippery slope, gentlemen. It's easier to not let these people, who confirm that it's not a good idea to marry your cousin, get our goats. Also, some of the crap that comes out of their mouths is pretty entertaining.

Doesn't Rivals have like a 10 day sin bin if you break their rules? It's not like temporarily banning a troll violates their human rights or anything. Neither life, liberty nor the pursuit of happiness are at stake here.
A ban for isolated or periodic smart ass posts is one thing, but if a poster's main aim is to instigate the home board's regulars, he's breaking the rules and needs to suck it up, sit it out for a bit, and learn some manners.

I think the only thing that needs to be banned or censored is.......HIWILLIES original idea to make a Black Flag list.
I mean c'mom guys.....Willies the guy that started that epic Brody thread.....and look what happened there. How'd Brody do this past weekend. Talk about dashing Hopes.

I have no problem with mikeT or jammanz. They support other teams...so what. wildturk shanked one, but at heart, a loyal fan. Wouldn't want any of them banned. FTigs makes idiotic and misleading posts, but doesn't deserve banning.
Lemonpie, on the other hand should be booted. A pure troll whose contributions consist of "hahahaha" when an iowa guy loses.
Lets not make this board like the little sissy Husker board....I do not post often on wrestling threads (just read) b/c I am not that knowledgeable about wrestling as other sports...but being from Iowa and being a Hawkeye fan I love to keep up to date. With that said the wrestling threads pale in comparison to the football and basketball boards as far as trolls are concerned. It probably helps that Iowa is by far the most historically successful program so what are most other posters going to say??? Granted it seems that if we do not win the Title and finish 2nd or 3rd it is a major disappointment, but it is what it is I guess

I don't remember who it was, but it was about the time I started following the board. I thought it was a joke at first. I probably shouldn't even mention it as it still may hit a nerve with some of the posters.
I thought that guy eventually settled up with everyone. I remember thinking it was a hoax, but I thought someone later posted that he did settle up.
Amen on that Tognetti, a man's man of all teams except OU. As for that jammanz, doesn't know what he is talking about. A real homer!
I don't mind mike jammanz or miket or a few others who respect the long time Iowa fans and posters here on the site. I agree with a lot of what they have to say and they tend to use humor to make points along with their OCCASIONAL jabs.
On the other hand you have the incessant pen state trolls come across as know it all goofs who really have a limited -- very limited -- grasp on reality. They are like an inbred pack of rats who tend to stick together in word and deed. It's as though they use talking points from the bwi board. They are here for one reason--to irritate and infect our site with their proven, perverse views.
If we can't ban them-- which is unlikely to happen-- I'd like to see a more spirited defense when we do see these rats scurrying about on our site spreading deceit and depravity.
