Brace for impact libs ... Musk and Ramaswamy to head DOGE

I have a question.

What’s Elon going to do about companies that rely upon government handouts to make their policies successful?

Walmart employs millions if US employees that are mostly all reliant upon state aid to make amends. A company that is reliant upon government help. They don’t make apoligies. They straight up hand out materials to compensate.

Not withstanding that amount of illegals Walmart no doubt hires. What’s going to happen?
His would be one too. He’s gained contracts by making wild claims and timelines then not hitting them.

Oh, food stamps are 100% getting cut. All soda and unhealthy sugary drinks are being slashed which will save the tax payers 10 billion dollars per year PLUS all the downstream Healthcare costs.

NPR is also on the lost that is losing federal funding.
How does “slashing” soda and sugary drinks save $10 billion? What does this even mean? If you prevent people from using food stamps for soda (which I am not opposed to), they will just spend it on something else.

Something, something, unelected bureaucrats…
I can’t wait for News Barbie, Breadbags, and Sleepy Chuck to announce their support for this agency pulled out of Trump’s ass when the wholesale cuts start. My first guess is they start with the billions spent supporting Robert Maplethorpe art, then move to farm subsidies.

Oh yes, they sure can. The NAACP (which is absolutely lobby group) actually fought to keep these items on the food stamps programs claiming it would be "racist" to remove them. The american tax payer is absolutely subsidizing big soda contributing to the obesity epidemic.
That is not the point. You aren't allocated a drinks budget in your benefits. Banning sugary drinks just means they can't buy sodas with their benefits, which is fine but it doesn't result in any savings for tax payers.

Applying this new idea to the real world, what i think this means is Elon and Vivek are going to look for areas to cut and those cuts would ultimately be reflected in the proposed budget Trump sends to Congress.

Let’s see how many in Congress are on board with drastic cuts.

I think the intent is for Musk and Elon to be able to grift off the government

Democrats should be celebrating this btw.. while they are raging about the upcoming removal of their imported serf class of illegal aliens ("WHO WILL PICK OUR STRAWBERRIES AND ROOF OUR HOUSES!?") We now have a massive group of people who will need work. I can't think of a better opportunity for the unnecessary federal bureaucrats than mowing our lawns and maybe learning to mine coal.

I really can't see Elon sharing leadership of a dept he created.
It won’t be official though. More like a commission. I think the “Department” is just for Elon’s stupid name.

News reports are that Elon’s camped out at Mar-a-Lago and even other Trumpers are asking wtf? He and Trump will tire of each other before too long.

Magats hate that there are people in government that had to get engineering degrees, accounting degrees, and other college degrees. They like to think they are all overpaid and don't do anything (i'm sure there are some) because they can't conceive of a job that requires some background knowlege that they don't have. They want the government employees to "feel the pain" of losing a job.

Maybe Musk can start with that entire new redundant branch of the military that Trump created the last time he was in office.
Or, making Secret Service staff stay at expensive Trump owned properties.
Space force is not a redundant military branch lmfao it was also absolutely essential.

it’s mind blowing how ****ing stupid and dense people are. This is nothing more than a grift and crypto pump while they weaken dollar. Going to be hard to pwn the libz while you trailer trash crypto bros are dead broke because elon and vivek raped your already small bank accounts.

Thank you for your contribution.

We're not fvcking around with this, though.

It is absolutely redundant. Everything the Space Force is now doing, was being done for decades by the Air Force.
And, now is probably being done to a degree by both departments. Inefficiently. So, I'm sure Musk will take a hard look at it (lol, he will not).

Pinehawk I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. There is no air in space 😉

Checkmate.

Joking aside, the focus on space age technology is indeed its own field with highly unique challenges both in the environment and from other global super powers. Having a team of specialists focusing on these challenges is an absolute win and strengthens every other branch of the military.

So on a semi-serious note...

1. Like others, I'm frankly wondering just what the hell this is. Now I'm sure it they're calling a "department" so they can have an acronym they like, but I'm also assuming that the irony might be a little too thick even for them to create another cabinet level department, let alone one with two heads. Rather, I assume this may end up something that is really a white house council-like group, perhaps akin to the Competitiveness Council that Quayle headed up once upon a time.
2. That of course also raises the question of how this will be funded, and to what degree. For now, I'm assuming out of the white house budget .
3. It may actually be amusing to see these guys having to operate within the constraints applicable to quasi governmental bodies. I have a feeling that Elon and Vivek are about to learn a lot about the Open Meetings Act and FACA, just as Hillary did.
4. Rs' wet dreams of taking a meat cleaver to government agencies and employees are just that. Undoubtedly there are heads that will roll, and very appropriately so - the significant number of lazy dolts in government is not actually the product of someone's imagination. They're sincere but incredibly unproductive, just as there are some truly outstanding and dedicated ones. But there's no particular reason to believe these guys will succeed where others have failed, in the scale they're suggesting.
5. I'm glad I sold my house in NoVA last year, and not, say, four years from now.

You’ll have a MAGA riot if food stamps are cut. This is going to be tremendous viewing.

Democrats are really bad with money. This change is greatly needed.
My buddy and I were talking about this coming back from our hunt trip, a billion dollars.

To lose.

If you are a Democrat, and you gave money to the campaign, to watch Megan the stallion perform and Oprah talk, you have to be a little pissed inside.

1,000,000,000

( and apparently it was really 1,370,000,000 JFC )
