They know, most of them got the checks. 😀...and of course, i suspect the term "staff" is a bit of a euphemism on the D side for paid human canvassers and GOTV walking around money.

After all the bullshit that was said about paying for events if this ends up being true I may actually lose my ass laughing. She is actually sending out emails still asking for more money for recounts lol her campaign is reportedly 20 million in the hole and unable to pay some of their outstanding bills even.
bingo... elon has made a career at making promises/deadlines that he can't keep and people then tripping over themselves to give him money.I wonder if any government employee has ever benefitted as much as Elon has from the government.
Yeah....bingo... elon has made a career at making promises/deadlines that he can't keep and people then tripping over themselves to give him money.
Elon is nowhere near as special as people think he is. Everything elon has done, someone else would have.
He going to start starving people too?Elon will just fire everyone. And then see how much damage it does. Then rehire most of the workforce with a raise.
FIFYImagine two foreigners, who grifted Americans, running our government.
Reminder, it’s Trump that’s the grifter! lolShe is actually sending out emails still asking for more money for recounts lol her campaign is reportedly 20 million in the hole and unable to pay some of their outstanding bills even.
Based on what i'm seeing, DOGE is not a government department. It's only an advisory committee/board. They do nothing except perhaps submit reports to actual government who i assume can trash the advice if they see fit. Finally, this committee dissovles latest by July 4, 2026. To summarize, the two bros most likely send quarterly advisory reports for 6 quarters and then go on their merry way. People are taking this far more seriously than necessary. It's even possible trump allowed doge as a vanity thank you for elon and vivek's help without having to take them on in serious government roles.
Trump Taps Musk, Ramaswamy To Run Government Efficiency Effort
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the Department of Government Efficiency.www.investors.com
Can’t believe I am saying it, but it is actually a pretty smart move by trump. Kind of a win/win. Lots of us have been talking about all the government bloat out that there. Why not give it a shot?
I think this new position is the give Musk fat government contracts. It is absolutely redundant. Everything the Space Force is now doing, was being done for decades by the Air Force.
And, now is probably being done to a degree by both departments. Inefficiently. So, I'm sure Musk will take a hard look at it (lol, he will not).
Or possibly gut/limit regulatory agencies his businesses are tired of dealing with. I’m sure he will be transparent about it though.I think this new position is the give Musk fat government contracts.
Half of them are nibbling on the teet. Self preservation panic.Based upon the comments in this thread, it appears as though the D's aren't onboard in cutting government waste.
Pointing to redundancy as a celebration of efficiency. Nice. There's 5 threads celebrating this huey but nice try LOL
Excitement* you spelled it wrong. And we aren't the ones firing the department of education, we're random forum posters so cope.Pointing to redundancy as a celebration of efficiency. Nice.
1. I used a form of the word of your original choosing.Excitement* you spelled it wrong. And we aren't the ones firing the department of education, we're random forum posters so cope.
yeah, in terms of the 'vanity thank you,' it's probably like inviting Deloitte or McKinsey in to your business to perform a "free diagnostic". The opportunities come in the downstream implementation government contracts. I am a little surprised, given Trump's love for WWII references, that he didn't ask them to be "dollar a year men".Based on what i'm seeing, DOGE is not a government department. Wouldn't surprise me if Elon holds an ongoing poll with details so the people decide which ones should be addressed first. Cross them off as they go. Show progress so we never go back to paying for stupid shit. Nor use them as leverage for unrelated bills. It's about time. How does this work, do you think?
Sure. I’m sure public polls on X will fit right into the budget process.Wouldn't surprise me if Elon holds an ongoing poll with details so the people decide which ones should be addressed first. We'll see, at this point any progress is good progress. It will give Americans transparency to see what their tax dollars are going towards.Sure. I’m sure public polls on X will fit right into the budget process.

So wait...
“All actions of the Department of Government Efficiency will be posted online for maximum transparency.
Anytime the public thinks we are cutting something important or not cutting something wasteful, just let us know!
We will also have a leaderboard for most insanely dumb spending of your tax dollars. This will be both extremely tragic and extremely entertaining 🤣🤣”
Brightside, Elon won't have as much time to screw Ukraine.
So I don't like the idea of Elon and his conflict of interest issues running this. I think Vivek is trouble as well, but I do like parts of the idea of DOGE. You hit on one here that I think could be built into a solid proposition. That is the transparency aspect and the ideas of gathering ideas from the public. Some form of crowdsourcing to get ideas isn't all bad. I do question if the public has the data or insight to really drive exposure, but let's see where that goes. The thing you hit on that's best is perhaps the leverage to keep some of the unnecessary expenses will be dropped with something like this because it might be harder to do a trade off to keep it.Wouldn't surprise me if Elon holds an ongoing poll with details so the people decide which ones should be addressed first. dig a little deeper. He runs companies, yes. Some are successful, thanks in large part to the us taxpayer.Yeah....

This is ridiculous.

The richest person on the planet has “some” successful companies. Loldig a little deeper. He runs companies, yes. Some are successful, thanks in large part to the us taxpayer.
This is *ridiculously awesome!
It really is ridiculously awesome. I don’t know how anyone who’s not a direct beneficiary of the bloat can’t love this. It should be and ultimately will have bi-partisan support once it gets rolling. The unfortunate thing for Democrats is they’ll likely fight it until it costs them the next election.FTFY

You’ve never seen a GOP politician defend government expenditures in their district? It really is ridiculously awesome. This isn't a bad thing.
Cutting waste is great. If anyone knows how this will work other than stripping programs and expenditures out of Trump’s proposed budget I’m interested. If what they are saying and proposing is true and works they way they are saying it will, it's a great thing and I really don't see how anyone could say otherwise. However, I would say there are plenty of reasons why people would remain skeptical. I will believe it when I see it with cautious optimism. Trump has earned zero benefit of the doubt IMO.
Of course I have. Both sides are guilty of needless “pork” projects for their districts. That’s exactly why any representative of both sides of the aisle haven’t made a serious effort at controlling the debt and why this should be celebrated by the constituents! You’ve never seen a GOP politician defend government expenditures in their district?
