Brandon Scherff is the best guard in the NFL

I'm a Redskins fan and Scherff is outstanding. He has great athleticism to get to the second level and great strength to push DL around.

Want a real laugh. Iowa currently has 25 players in the NFL, Clowns have 7. Iowa has more OL in the NFL than ISU total.
Good for the hawks but that was not the topic. The 2 best guards in the NFL are Zack Martin and Kelechi Osemele as indicated by their all NFL 1st team status.

Seriously? Yanda has been mentioned time and again as not only one of the best guards in the game, but best all around OL. Lots of articles written about him as one of the top football players in the game regardless of position and surefire future Hall of Famer.

Is the prospect of Yanda and Scherff the top 2 guards in the game debatable? Sure, any ranking system is debatable. That’s part of the fun.

But to jump on an Iowa board and just type “LOL” at the prospect of Yanda and Scherff as possibly 1 and 2 (and poster even said possible, not making the bold statement they for sure were) is not only an asinine comment to make, but clearly a troll move from a douche. Nice work.

The NFL’s best guards, No. 1: Marshal Yanda, Ravens
“The 31-year-old is one of the best offensive linemen in football, period.“

KO gave up no sacks in 2016......ZERO...He is a devastating run blocker and is recognized as the best. Good for Yanda but the Ravens fell off the grid when they lost KO.

Crap list, Yanda #4 and Scherff #9. But even with that said, it still doesn’t spit in the face of an arguement of them being two of the top guards in the NFL.

Also, I had to follow up on your comment regarding the Ravens falling off without KO.

The Ravens went 5-11 w/ KO in 2015 and 25th in scoring O and 14th in total O.

The Ravens went 8-8 in 2016 w/out KO and 21st in scoring O and 17th in total O.

Better record and similar offensive stats as a team.

" Yanda has not allowed a sack or hit in 1,014 consecutive pass-blocking snaps, a streak that will continue heading into next year."

An ISU fan taking the time to argue and research how an Iowa player is great but not the best in the league is interesting

Even NFL players agree, Yanda is the best G in the NFL.

I was looking at that list, and Cam Newton was #1 going into 2016, but 44th going into this season, one spot behind Yanda. Also, Yanda was 37th the prior year, so has a lot of the respect of the players in the league.

I also noticed David Johnson was #12 on that list. Awesome to see an Iowa kid and former Panther so high on the list.

Also, Mike Daniels came in at 84, and 95 the prior year. Great to see him on the list.

Osemele is the best lineman period. That is not too bad for a 2nd rd pick. Don't feel bad as the hawks have some good lineman in the NFL.

Get lost, troll. Maybe if Osemele was a better lineman, his quarterback wouldn't be out with a transverse process fracture

  • Yanda has consistently been one of the top guards in the NFL, grading as elite (grade above 90.0) in five of the last six years. His highest graded year came in 2014, where he finished the year with a 95.5.
  • The veteran finished last year with an overall grade of 91.6, the highest among all guards. He has not allowed a sack since week seven of the 2015 season against the Arizona Cardinals.

Yanda is very good....just not the best

Player personnel execs, coaches, and players have stated the same. That is why he is 1st team all NFL....but you can keep hoping it isn't true
Right. Player personnel execs, coaches and players have said the same about me. See how that works? Meanwhile multiple sources have been sited in support of Yanda. Look, you're a lot like my ex-BW. You make things up in your head to make yourself feel better with no factual basis or backing, then stand by your opinion come hell or high water no matter how much evidence has been presented to the contrary. When your brain is presented with contrarian logic, you do not know how to handle it, except to throw a fit and continue to make things up.

Players, player personnel execs, and Coaches do not vote on all pro. The O-line for all pro is the most shoty voting there is.

They contribute to Pro football weekly

They contribute to a lot of different things, including many of the links we provided you in regards to Yanda.

At this point you made your opinion known, we made ours, and quite frankly you probably aren’t swaying a single person on this site. Granted at the end of the day, none of our opinions amount to a hill of beans.

So your continued argument and the manner in which you have done it, is merely to stir the pot and troll at this point.

Congrats, job well done. You can go back to the clown board now and tell them about your recent adventures on HR, and circle jerk it over there to KO. Have fun.

Stirring the pot is fun with the folks that don't like logic.
