Well played game and a complete all around beautiful game! Way to go Hawks!

Iowa > Wisconsin

th

One of our best road performances of the year.

In some ways yes, but in other ways not.

Too many turnovers (& lackadaisical ones, at that), rebounds given up, and Wisky was allowed to cut the deficit down to 3 kinda late before Luka & Weezy said "that's enough of that".

This could, and should, have been a second straight 30-pt road win.

Actually, I think the fact the Hawks DID win by 15 despite the turnovers, missed free throws, missed rebounds, shows just how dominant a win this really was.
I thought, overall, this was one of the best defensive performances they’ve had in some time.

Not perfect, certainly, but very, very good nonetheless.

I agree with you on the turnovers, (especially in the first half), and the rebounding. Wiscy is a better team than MSU making another 30 point win unlikely.

That's what makes this Hawkeye offense so deadly.

Let's say a team can contain Luka AND Weezy, you still gotta account for everyone else.
I mean that’s the thing though, a cold shooting night in the first round and this team gets northwestern state’d right on out....

it’s super fun to watch when it’s on, but I’ll be surprised (happy to be wrong) if it leads deep into the tourney.

I always was taught defense and rebounding travel. If you make those the cornerstone of your team you will always have a shot

I happen to agree with you as defense wins championships both football and basketball but Iowa’s offense is something special they can definitely outshoot their opponents with a halfway good defensive effort they can be deadly ... they need to be ON shooting wise to go to the final 4 and I mean ON... let’s sit back as fans and root the living shit out of our lungs and hope the hawks can claw their way into that contention..

I think C.J. will continue to get back into form and still has a few games and the big ten tournament. With C.J hitting on all cylinders we are a scary team

I think of the North Carolina game and how their intensity was incredible but this is simply a better team than then. We are playing much better defense I the last couple games

I agree with you. There was a span of games when I thought their intensity and effort was lacking, especially on the defensive end and/or going for the 50/50 balls. You could tell when they got double digit leads they became complacent. Nunge even said as much during an interview.

Not so against Wisconsin. Yes, the lead dwindled, but it really was only a couple of empty possessions while the Badgers made a few shots. That’s going to happen during a 40 minute game against a good team. The difference, though, it never looked like the intensity had waned. Sure enough, Iowa made a couple shots, Wisconsin missed a couple and it’s back up to a 10+lead with only a couple minutes left.

We had 11 TO's and average 9.

JBo and Keegan went 2/12 and we shot 50%. Take them out and we shoot 24/39, 62%.

That may have been Fran's best regular season win, period. Name another one that was more important, especially at this time of the season.

The team that lost to NW St was pretty bad on offense but, I believe, the best in the country on D. Oooops
