******Rider vs Iowa Game Thread******

Guys, Mulvey sucks. I'm not sure what you're seeing, but he's big, and that's it.

Well... not great but certainly not bad. The defense is really playing well and the offense didn't turn the ball over. That orange thing needs to go in the circle thing a little more often though.
Look, if we allow a team to score under 60, that's great to me. Fran knows how to get his team to score. The issue has always been stopping the other team.

22-42 (52%) from 2

Didn't watch, but love the fact they held the other team below 60 pts, won by 25 and are now 5-0.

Sweet, and on to Friday night. Should be another decent litmus test against Utah St, similar to the Washington St game.

Mulvey has played ok in his very limited minutes, even in the Big Ten tournament, two years ago. Where I haven't seen anything from Brauns to make me believe he would do anything against a decent big man in this league.

He's not bad. Didn't say good or great. Fran could get him some time somewhere I'm sure, especially in games like this. He got 1 minute tonight.
Maybe agree that a little more than a minute would make more sense against a team like Rider, but there is a reason that Mulvey is on the end of the bench. He is a good teammate, but needs to transfer after this year if he really wants to play. I'm not sure that is the case.

I thought it was a pretty good defensive effort. Held their top scorer to I think 1 point in the first 30 minutes of the game. First time seeing Brock and Drew play together, I thought their defensive quickness along with Traore caused some problems. Dembele’s defense is also improving, we’re doing better on switching as a team. Koch has a real nice quiet hustle and intelligence to his game. Considering no Dix, a nice easy win.

Best home buy game of the season. And Rider is the best team of the four they've played so far.

Encouraged by the defense. Drew and Traore are dynamic on the floor together. Very active hands, very active switching and guarding screens, and very active on ball pressure. Drew and Traore elevate the other players on the court too especially on defense.

Why tie up a scholarship for 4-5-6 years on a guy you never intend to play? For awhile Fran had both Josh and Mulvey that he had no intention of ever playing other than utter desperation. Would make more sense to invest in a project player that has a pay off in future. Fran plays Mulvey like Mulvey has zero future.

In limited action, Mulvey looks like Braun---not really any skills, biut Mulvey can stand under basket at 7 ft and Braun is way
undersized at 6'9 in post defense.

If Fran had a lot of hardware like deep NCAA tourney runs and Big10 championships, he would get less 2nd guessing.

Right now any opposing team that as an effective big center, we don't have a defensive answer, especially with Freeman
prone to foul trouble.
