2 below average teams? Thats a bullshit take. Iowa players outside of CC22 were very good, they probably weren't 5* like all of Geno's kids, mostly because they went to Iowa.

While I get the general premise of the tweet and can generally buy into what he’s saying, at the same time, having now watched a full season of the W, I’m gonna say that the distinction of having “made it to the WNBA” just isn’t that meaningful of a benchmark.

Take Katie Lou off that list as an absolutely perfect example. I don’t know; perhaps she was an entirely different player before motherhood. She would have had to have been entirely different, because based on what I’ve seen, she’s simply terrible. I mean, I can honestly say that I can’t tell you a single thing that she does even well, let alone at a high level. Maybe she has some size? She’s a great teammate?

I can tell you one thing—here are a few women I would take ahead of her in a heartbeat at any level and at any time:
Monika Czinano
McKenna Warnock
Molly Davis
Gabbie Marshall
And of course Kate Martin (who I guess “made it”).
And Sydney Affolter and Hannah Stuelke who just might “make it” yet.

Of course Caitlin is the GOAT; that’s indisputable. But I question the “greatness” of several of those women, just because they passed through the UConn WBB factory.

Samuelson was the three point specialist the first half of the year, then she couldn't hit anything and Lexi Hull got hot and replaced her.

That stuck out to me as well. They were only "below average" compared to the average top few programs like SC, LSU, and UCONN. Overall, they were like a solid B without Caitlin. With Caitlin they were an A or A+, which would make Caitlin an A+++ player.

In no world could Molly Davis play in the WNBA. I don't disagree that the others could be role players and make a roster. Much of that depends upon time, place, and relationships.

Keep in mind they were better because Caitlin’s presence made them better. Who’s the playmaker on that team if CC wasn’t there? Who’s the player that frees up the other shooters? I think there’s a dramatic drop off without Clark. Like .500 or just below in the B1G drop off.

Molly Davis I guess.
