Brewer

If you're referring to joe smith he didn't get the go Marstellar won by tech fall
I think the cupboard was a bit more bare for them at 133, so I presume Little John's redshirt will stay intact. I would also presume Papa Cowboy wants his Son to have the most chance of personal success, therefore keeping him on redshirt, regardless of his current ability, which by all accounts is outstanding.

One of these years they might even field a team that can beat the Hawks in a dual...........;)

I agree on smith I'm sure John doesn't want that to change this is the best I've seen the Cowboys all year against a good (yes I said good) sooner team it's almost up to par with what I was expecting coming into the season

You can keep your dual win every year if we beat you at Nationals!

I always enjoyed watching Kaid wrestle in high school. He is going to by dynamite from his feet. We still have to see what he brings on the mat

I would think Clark will move to number 2 and Brewer will move to about number 5. Brock will break into the tracings and I would not be surprised if he is ranked behind Brewer. We will see what the Gurus of rankings come up with. The way things are going, Clark may get the number 2 seed and be on the "easy" side of the bracket.

Folks... remember when Earl Hall pinned Brewer in their first meeting? Brewer won't let it happen again and Brock will now be scouted. Look for the better coaching staffs in the country to develop a game plan on Brock going forward.
Agreed that this was quite the debut, but let's see how he does in a tourney setting where he wrestles multiple matches in a shorter period of time.
Pokes definitely look like they got a fine future with his abilities.

You'll will have that in 2 1/2 weeks, SS!

All signs are pointing to Clark having the #1 seed and Garrett and Brewer meeting in the semis!
I disagree, although I think this is the way it should be as a returning finalist. Clark isn't getting as much respect because a) he got beat by Brewer in the finals and Garrett now has a win over Brewer, and b) Clark's wins haven't been as impressive as many would like.

Garrett is currently #1 and won't meet up with Clark until Nationals (unless Iowa and Cornell match up at national duals). It's possible Clark goes undefeated and still gets the #2 seed.

I don't think a win over Brewer will be that big a deal. Something is wrong with the guy. He gets handled by Garrett and then gets stuck by a newbie. This after handling Da Furor at 141 in the All Star Meet. Has to be the cut. If he doesn't solve it, he could take a few more losses. If Clark goes undefeated, wins the B1G, he'll get the #1 seed.

FWIW, I just saw the replay of the final 15 second of the match and I think it's clear that most unbiased fans will agree it was NOT a pinfall. Brooks was more pinned than Brewer. But that's how things go when you put yourself into bad situations. Don't put the outcome in the hands of the ref.

it was definitely a pin

It depends on who Clark wrestles. If he doesn't see Garrett and the guy from Wiscy has been hurt, who will he wrestle to give him the number one seed? Brewer, Brock,Garrett are all people he may not wrestle.

Maybe he will beat Richards from Illinois, but who else in the top 5 will he see to get a number one seed. It looks to me that if Garrett and Clark both go undefeated, the number one seed will go to Garrett.

If he beats Conaway from PSU that will help, but I do not see Conaway being a top 5 ranked guy. At least not yet. I guess what I am saying is that it is too early to predict who will get the number one seed. The weight seems to be full of surprises.

Some of you guys are reading into it to much he's wrestled pretty well up to this point nothing to show the weight cut having an effect he loses to Nashon Garrett someone who is absolutely in the hunt to win the title this year and a freshman who could make some more noise this season and the whole world goes in a frenzy

A defending national champ should not get stuck by a true frosh. That being said it is what separates this sport from all others...the pin! Doesn't matter your talent, experience, pedigree, or even the score of the current match...the fall is the great equalizer!

Brock controlled that whole match, I think all 42 sec of it. Took him down twice, and one of them was the pin. It wasn't just a lucky move that got him the win.

There's other true freshman that have beaten returning champs Zach Esposito lost to a true freshman who would go on to win a title that year himself

Oklahoma will be at Midlands. So Brewer vs Clark should happen in just a couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, the problem is that Clark is unlikely to meet Garrett, unless they wrestle at National Duals. As noted above, Clark could go undefeated and still get the #2 seed behind and undefeated Garrett. However, if Brewer proves not to be as formidable an opponent this year as last, it won't matter as much that he got the #2 seed, and with a couple more losses, Brewer may fall to the #4 and end up wrestling Garrett at #1, anyway. Hopefully, Cory takes care of Brewer at Midlands on his way to a national title, regardless of where anyone else is seeded.

Before last years nationals Brewer had taken a lot of losses in his career but he's lights out when it counts. I remember his sophomore year he was like 0-10 against Morrison and then beat him at nationals.

I think Cory matches up way better vs garret them he does vs Brewer. Clark takes a lot of bad shots were he can normally back out. That doesn't sit well when your wrestling the a guy with the best go behind in the biz(Brewer).

Holy Cripes Batman! You guys are putting the Horse WAY before the cart in this discussion. We're not even through December and we're talking undefeated and seeding? Wow. I get it this is a message board, but this is just nuts. IMO of course.

I think I'll just let the season play out, which will most likely provide a shitload of surprises prior to March, like it always does.

Kaid is gonna be a good one. I wouldn't hand him any points at NCAAs yet though. We can go through all the hypotheticals but reality is March is a very very long ways away and injuries/health/motivation/guys becoming really good/upsets can and will happen.

Wow! Not that's funny. A lot of different terms can best describe that post, but better not offend.
