What a cluster that was. Stuff happens. Better have the right mindset each game this year. Purdue is going to be good.

David bell is supposedly official visiting Purdue when we play them this year....yuuuge game

I had forgotten the dropped passes...the punting game and special teams in general...going for 2... Lots of questionables. Can't be great every time out.

Turn the page. It's 2018.

Don't underplay how poor our special teams were in that game. So many errors ... those, almost in themselves, handed over momentum in the game to Purdue.

At least stanley is a big quarterback. Purdue sacked him like six times. And he got right back up. ST had nothing to do with six sacks. No excuse for that. That is on the OC or a problem with the offensive system.

Most likely brian will be real good in 2019 though.

You used this same backhanded compliment of BF in another thread. This is the second time I've called you out on something like this, and these other cheap shots at the offense are getting old.

You've clearly run out of material. Go back to Badger land for a while until you come up with something more creative.

Yes, it must have been the OC fault. He didn't block one guy. Might as well go back to coaching.:p

Defense is as strong as its weakest link. Purdue beat the CBs opposite of Jackson like a red-headed step-child coming out of halftime.
If I remember right Josh got stuck on him for a while as well and the result was pretty much the same. Between their offensive scheme and just being hot that day (some damn good ball placement on a few of those throws) stuff happens. Hopefully it will be corrected on our end and their players are not on their A game.

Josey Jewell had a good game. I could not get over what I perceived as an unwillingness to adjust the defense once we started giving up the deep pass to that one receiver. They changed who was covering him a couple times but didn't bring over safety help. Yuck is right.

Dont want to rehash a 10 page pissing match again, but was this the day Iowa went for 2 after the last TD instead of kicking the xp and extending the game for an onside?

Was at that game, Senior Day and it truly sucked.
2 deep throws to WR for TD can really turn a game.
It should not have happened that way.
But.......you cannot be at Top effort and skill every weekend.
Even on Senior day..........GO HAWKEYES !!! :)

Purdue threw about 4 or 5 perfect balls in the second half in a row.

They also blitzed and tried to confuse the Oline as much as possible and it worked. We will see more of that from teams that arent as big but have speed. ISU, Purdue, Indiana, ect.

Of all the programming they could choose to put on the air, that's what they go with? Why not just run a loop of some homeless guy getting beaten and crapping all over himself?

It happened so quickly, 7 plays total, 6 pass completions. I have seen criticized that Parker "didn't do anything." If anything, Parker made a pretty drastic switch of swapping which sides the corners played rather quickly. First series of third quarter went 11 yards, then PI on Rugamba, then 14 yards (Gervase tackle), then 42 yard TD. Then Iowa went 3 and out, short punt and Purdue started at Iowa 46. Then Purdue goes 35 yard pass (with Ojemudia now in coverage. After a rush of 1 yard, then 16 yard pass for TD. At which point, Jackson switched over to that side.

So 4 plays and replace one corner with another. Then 3 plays and switch sides. Obviously, the damage was done by that time.

It was just an issue of Purdue finding something that worked and inflicted maximum damage before Iowa could stop the bleeding.

It is not a back handed compliment. It is very hard to call plays for kirk. It will take three years for the offense to even score over thirty points a game on the year end average. I guess you consider that to much to ask.

I wonder if your fball team will start to be as bad as your b-ball team? Huh, we’ll just have to sit back and watch the fall I guess.

It’s natural to have an emotional let-down after curbstomping Ohio State. And Purdue was playing some pretty good football by the end of the season.
