It’s a bit off topic but it’s a helluva night to watch all 4 against themselves…
Wisky v MSU
ILL v Purdue

Looking forward, If Iowa wins 2, they will be bein in semi finals.. Wisconsin and maybe MSU is beatable for this Iowa squad.

Purdue‘s full grown men, 3 point shooters showing why they are B1Gs elite team…
and Ivey only has 2 points

Yeah Purdue at is best is very good. One of these years, the odds would dictate Painter would break through with a Final 4. They have size, depth, a great perimeter player in Ivey, great shooter in Stefanovic, etc.
He had that last second loss to UVA a few years ago to go to the Final 4 right? But they have everything it takes to do it this year. 10 deep, 2 good bigs, star power in Ivey, shooters, etc.

100% agree….plus Great role players, Gillis…

PU shot 51% - 41% from 3. If they do anything close to that they should make a deep run.

I really like what matt painter does year in and year out. He has a solid system in place. They recruit to match their style (kind of like wisconsin football), defend, and somehow can coach kids to shoot well coming off screens. I think that is a winning formula that many elite college teams follow.

I’m probably nitpicking, but I have three knocks on Purdue as to them being a Final Four team:

1. They do not have great PG play.
2. They do not defend at an elite level
3. Their FT shooting is spotty

They’re damn fun to watch and they do a great many things well though. And if I had to pick a B1G team to root for to go the distance, it would be them!

Me too, but like you said, their guard play and FT shooting will bite them in the ass, I'm afraid. I've seen them twice against Iowa and once against Michigan be a train wreck against a 3/4 court press. Better teams than Michigan and Iowa will make them pay

IU had 5 guys suspended(including two starters) in game @NW last nite...NW wins their 3rd straight to move to 5-8 in the league.
NW playing very good ball right now. We will have our hands full with NW.

PSU gave Mich all They could handle but pulled out a close win at PSU, unlike Iowa.
Wolves are way more athletic than Hawks.
Need to hope they shoot poorly to get a split.
Sadly Iowa has such a r razor thin margin for error the rest of the way I could see us going anywhere from 1-8 to 7-2.

Ok lmao

My only concern with Purdue is the inability to hold the lead. I’ve seen them spit the bit a few times, not necessarily losing, but giving up big leads. Best offense in the country but the AdjD at 100+ is definitely reason for concern.

Purdue's defensive efficiency ranking this year is worse than Iowa's last year, yet I never hear announcers mention how poor of a D they have like we heard of Iowa's all year long.

Do you see them getting destroyed like Iowa did in the 2nd round last year?

Seems like Purdue has always been lackluster in NCAA play vs their success in B1G conference play.

Purdue has a really good team, but if they don't make the Elite8, I think Purdue fans will have legit beef that they under performed. Certainly Iowa's trouncing last year and missing the sweet16 was under performance

Purdue is a pg away from competing for a Natty.

My guess is they lose in the 2nd round.

Sweet 16 is their ceiling.
They’re ranked 3rd or4th in the country and you think their ceiling is the sweet 16? We’ll agree to disagree. Ivey is as good as anyone in the country. He can take over a game. They don’t need great pt guard play with him.

Ivey scored 24 pts in 2nd half to turn a deficit into a 20 point win vs league leader and top 10-ish team.
that is the definition of a game changer…
of a guy that can take the game over vs any team in the country
