As far as the tournament is concerned, I’m almost happier we didn’t get a double bye and possibly have another shot at the Badgers (providing they beat Ohio State). Beating Wisconsin would take the sting out of those embarrassing losses. This team has the possibility of reaching the sweet 16…also again losing in the first round. It depends how we shoot. Fran’s teams are backwards IMO. A lot of teams when they are playing good defense, that leads to better offense. Not Iowa. They need to shoot the ball well right out of the gate to generate any effort in defense. I the think the NCAA tourney is more wide open than ever.

Every year you get a few games where they play very good to great defense. Sometimes it is only for a half but it is there.
I have to think it has everything to do with in game coaching. As a fan it is aggravating to constantly watch help defense that is consistently late and frequent at allowing open looks.
Lastly, the game wasn't lost yesterday because of any one player. There was a time yesterday to put in your best defensive team and Fran ignored to stay with scoring. When you need defenders neith Connor or Pat should touch the court. I will give That Connor does okay when defending a big but is absolutely porous when in anyone with a pulse!
