This was not a game we could afford to lose. So disappointed with this horrible showing.

Your subject is an gross over reaction.
Long season shows what teams are. Iowa had the soft portion of its schedule, and the media started piling on how great they were. And they are good, not great. Combine that with Frederick being out and there you have it. Frederick's ability to space the floor was big. You are correct is severely reduces the chances of Iowa winning the league. And yes, a 1 seed is gone too (but I always thought that was unlikely given Iowa's schedule).
How is it a gross overreaction? May still happen but you can't lose at home and there will be games like this again. 2nd half of Big is tough. Alot of weaknesses showed up tonight
Tough 2nd half of schedule. Alot more has to go right. Not saying it won't happen but having some breathing room by winning home games against indy shouldn't be too unrealistic.
Any normal year...a loss like this is whatever. But this team...this experience...to have title shot...you just can't drop these games and rely on other teams
I never really thought a Big Ten championship or #1 seed was all that realistic. This team has too many weaknesses. We’re going to struggle against athletic teams that play tough D. We get cold shooting, we can lose to some pretty average teams.

I knew all along the Hawks had to shoot lights out from 3 to win most games. And I also knew there was no way they could do it all season.
With CJ hurt, maybe having 8 days off isn't such a bad thing.
For CJ, it’s definitely a good thing.....but Joe T, Connor, Murray, Patrick, Nunge, Perkins, Ulis could probably beat Nebraska.
1 seed and B1G championship both very much in play. 8-2 down the stretch would keep a 1 seed in play, 2 seed at worst even going 7-3.
I thought 14-15 wins would be their ceiling and they can certainly still get there(assuming all 20 games are played). Back half looks tougher. There are more losses to come, but hopefully no turds like this one.
Winning the regular season title is still possible, just not likely. The hopes I have for the rest of the season are that : 1. most games can be played 2. the NCAA tourney remains a go 3. Hawks make the sweet 16

I think a Sweet 16 is definitely the minimum this team needs to achieve. Anything after that, I‘m afraid, will need the Hawks to shoot 40+% from 3 and tighten up their defense a little.
B1G Championship and a 1 seed are definitely still in play. It's a bit tougher now, but still possible.
Yes, Iowa should have absolutely dominated Indiana, but they didn't. The scoring drought for the last 12 minutes of the game was a killer, but Indiana was able to adjust and all but take away Iowa's outside game. Bohannon had a terrible, terrible game but if they played tonight Iowa could just as easily win by 20 if he shoots 40% from deep. JT was able to slice up the Indiana defense but for whatever reason they continued to pin their hopes on JBo thinking he'd eventually hit a shot or two (it was becoming increasingly apparent that it was not going to happen).
Fran needs to learn when to ride the hot hand, and when to change things up. When things are going well, keep the players in until they start cooling off. Conversely, if the current set aren't producing, substitute accordingly and see if someone else can provide a spark. Iowa has way, way, way too much firepower to let this happen more than once. They can - and should - hit 90 against any team in the country.

Still plenty of games to win the conference and get a #1 seed.
I suppose it's possible, but not likely, that the B1G champ will only have one loss, but that eliminates everyone but Michigan. We've damaged our chances, but there is still a long way to go. Beating the Illini on the road would be a nice start.
With this years Big Ten I would be very surprised to see a conference champion with less than three losses,... Play on.
