Buy 3 frozen pizzas, get 2 free Gopher FB tix

They must be based out of MN???

This is something you would expect from a NCAA Div.II program.

University of Minnesota enrollment exceeds 50,000 students and more than 600,000 Gopher alumni live within 25 miles of the stadium.

Here is the kicker: even with this greasy ticket giveaway, there will remain thousands of empty seats for the season home opener in one of the B10's smallest football stadiums.

Keep up the good work Gopher fans.

Funny thing about that Casey's pizza above - their pizza doesn't even look like that.

The fact that they’ve resorted to frozen pizza to sell tickets shows frozen fan interest. And you can’t row a boat in a freeze. Even with an elite effort.

They must be really desparate to do this.

I shared this on Northwestern's board since they are the lucky ones to be one of the choices for this.
Imagine if the Iowa game was a choice. We would all be buying some red baron pizza.

    • 8/30/18 vs. New Mexico State
    • 9/8/18 vs. Fresno State
    • 9/15/18 vs. Miami (OH)
    • 11/17/18 vs. Northwestern

The Great Gopher Giveaway -

Wonder if they had to pay Red Baron to take the tickets for the promotion.

3 Pizzas for $4 each - $12 for 2 tickets or $6 per ticket
say $4 production/Admin cost for 3 pizza or $1.33 each
sell to grocery chain at $2.50 each

They make $1.17 per pizza maybe - not much room to give the Goofers much dough

Interesting potential scam in the fact that they don't tell you how many tickets are available to this promotion for each game. Is it 500 tickets or 5000 tickets for each game?

I thought this was some kind of joke but then I clicked on the link..... Wow this is just sad and funny at the same time. I can only imagine Fleck in the frozen food aisle at the local supermarket trying to convince people to buy frozen pizzas.

Hmm.Tell me more

Not currently. It was either in the doldrums of the Brady Hoke or Rich Rod eras that the AD at Michigan had the bright idea to give away free tickets to people who bought a Coke Zero or a case of Coke Zero or something like that. They were desperate to get fans into the Big House, but that caused a near riot among the Michigan faithful.

It was only for students and they had to make the purchase in the student union. 2 cokes = 2 tickets for the Meathchicken vs Goofer game. They blamed it on Coke saying Coke had purchased a block of tickets but had not been authorized to do this promotion. It was in 2014.

Thanks for the clarification SoFla. One game for students. Michigan has no trouble selling football tickets. I've been to three games there, Iowa twice and Illinois once. I didn't notice any empty seats.

If you haven't been to a game there it is pretty neat. Approaching it it doesn't look that big, but when you get inside there is this huge hole in the ground. It seats well over 100k people.

Very good tailgating, many of them seem a little fancy for my Iowa brats, burgers and chili taste. Wine over beer.
