Americans with Covid or other respiratory infections need not isolate for five days before returning to work or school, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Friday, a striking sign of changing attitudes toward the coronavirus.

People with respiratory illnesses may resume daily activities if they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the aid of medications and if their symptoms are improving, agency officials said.

Acknowledging that people can be contagious even without symptoms, the C.D.C. urged those who end isolation to limit close contact with others, wear well-fitted masks, improve indoor air quality and practice good hygiene, like washing hands and covering coughs and sneezes, for five days.

The guidelines apply to Covid, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus, among other respiratory ailments, which should make it easier for people to comply, Dr. Mandy Cohen, the C.D.C.’s director, told reporters on Friday.

Remember when people got really upset when people said it's just the flu?

LOLOL!

They are waiting for Joes Place to tell them the science. They admitted their mistake in not asking him about the 6 foot rule, and that transmission was primarily large droplets.
I love that we have fauci on video now stating the 6' spacing guideline was never based on any data and was just arbitrarily made up. Trust the science and all that lol

I get up in the morning and eat a big bowl of COVID for breakfast. Have a COVID sandwich for lunch. Fry myself a big plate of COVID for dinner and wash it down with a freshly squeezed glass of COVID. I've had it and not scared of it.

Same people got very upset when the winter of sickness and death for the unvaccinated never came.
Meanwhile, people that follow the 'science' are up to nine doses...in three years!
🤣🤣🤣

On Wednesday, the CDC recommended that seniors get another “booster” in the Spring, making this the ninth dose for Americans who continue to abide by the Government Health booster guidance schedule.

In just three year’s time, the CDC’s vaccine advisory committee has now authorized nine separate injections of a shot that was once advertised as the cure to the coronavirus.

“Today’s recommendation allows older adults to receive an additional dose of this season’s COVID-19 vaccine to provide added protection,” said CDC Director Mandy Cohen. “Most COVID-19 deaths and hospitalizations last year were among people 65 years and older. An additional vaccine dose can provide added protection that may have decreased over time for those at highest risk.”

The ninth shot, which is currently only recommended for seniors, but will soon be authorized for all ages, is considered a booster that targets the Eris variant, or EG.5.

But what Pfizer and Moderna don’t want you to find out is that the Eris variant no longer exists. The data for this comes directly from the CDC.

As you can see in the above CDC Variant Tracker, the EG.5 variant is no longer found in the United States. It’s official: the Pfizer loyalty card has become a reality. Nine shots in three years.

Anyone here have kids in the ICCSD? What is there policy on Covid/Flu/RSV? We had a granddaughter who spiked a fever at school and had to be 24 hour fever free before she could go back to school. This happened on a Thursday just prior to dismissal. Just wondering as she was fever free the next morning but could not go to school that day.

Yeah, all the old people with one foot already in the grave were easy pickings for the novel COVID virus.

Today, everyone has some sort of immunity, so it's not novel anymore.

Kinda like the flu.

So...what's the point in bringing up that some people got mad that others were seemingly trying to downplay it's severity when it was novel and killing people by the thousands?

Just for the lulz, or a weird flex that you may have guessed semi-correctly about the course of an unknown virus, but were mistaken about the timeline and amount of death?

That has been the policy for at least the entire school year, maybe some of last year as well. They've never required anything more than the honor system in regards to covid absences, IIRC.

you were concerned about a new virus that was requiring hospitals to store bodies in refrigerator trucks and was killing thousands of people a week despite unprecedented mitigation and containment efforts? what an idiot!

didn't you realize things might be different 4 years later?!?!?

Remember when the flu killed between 1% to 5.4% of the world's population.

Remember when we screwed an entire generation because of fear and paranoia all in the name of “science”

That’s because of Covid Cultists and it will remembered as such in history.

Maybe intubation wasn’t the best idea In hindsight. I don’t care what any BS medical study says to stave off lawsuits.

24 hour rule is pretty standard in schools. Goes for fever and vomiting.

I don’t think he thought that through.

Covid has been “5 days since your last symptom” or “10 days since you tested positive”.
First, I was responding to the fever question, doesn’t matter Covid or flu. And second, in my county in Illinois, you could come back to school the next day, we waived the 5/10 rule for Covid this school year.
