"Cade gives us the best chance to win"

Seriously Kirk wtf? Sully is so much better its not even close. @eyesofhawk , @Hawktagonapus. @Frosty7130 ... go F yourself

Go hawks!
I’m actually watching this game.

In the past, I think Kirk not playing the better quarterback has been overstated. Not this time. Sullivan is mobile, has moxie, and seems to be the leader at quarterback Iowa has been sorely missing.

No way can Kirk justify going back to McNamara..

When has it been overstated? He’s been wrong every time and often, when he’s wrong, he’s proven wrong spectacularly when the new guy does things the program rarely achieves

Banks / McKann - heisman finalist v. Pedestrian game manager of a 6-5 team

JC / Rick Six Stanzi - no bowl, FCS failure v major bowl winner and guy who hung around NFL for a few years

Ruddock / beat hard - boring game manager of middling teams v gunslinger who led Iowas only unbeaten team in the modern era, a man who had the longest NFL career of any Iowa QB, ever.

Time will tell, but if history is an indicator, Iowa football isn’t going to lose again this year

It's unreal that Kirk repeatedly defended his golden boy Cade when sully was sitting on the bench and so much better

It's criminal

Wisconsin didn't stack the box as much as they should have.

McNamarra is still likely the better QB in terms of reading coverages and throwing the ball accurately. I think that is why he had the edge early this season, and Kirk wasn't necessarily wrong. Clearly Sullivan has done well with his feet but he literally hasn't been FORCED to throw the ball much yet. That day is coming. His ability to run does help the run game for certain.

Remember all those years where Wisky had the better OL and RB room? Our OL played great tonight and the roster of RB's is fantastic. All 3 of them are reading the holes extremely well, something other RB's have struggled with.

Sullivan looked pretty accurate on the throws I saw.

Not only that, he didn’t make a single costly mistake.

Sullivan is without question the better quarterback.

You think Cade throws the ball more accurately? When?

I think that’s what we thought we were getting with Cade and he’s simply not proven it.

I respect your bball takes but after that you should probably never post on the football board.

Doesn't mean he won't start him next week, regardless, despite all the proof that Sullivan is clearly the best option at QB1.

L.O.L.

The reality is they both are inaccurate. One can run and opens up the offense, the other is a sack machine.

Playing Cade isn’t even defendable at this point. He turns the ball over and brings nothing to the offense. Sullivan turns potentially negative plays into positives, forces the defense to respect his threat to run and picks up first downs with his legs

Omg this post is terrible! Is this KF?

Kirk is the head coach. Blow the season? LOL

You do realize now the season is over once you’re out of the playoffs, right? You must be a big Outback bowl fan.

Sure, beating your rivals is fun, but these games are meaningless now…because Ferentz is completely stubborn and QB challenged. Iowa could be in Iowa State’s place right now playing meaningful games with only one loss if Ferentz knew how to evaluate and play the right QB. Let me guess, you’re stubborn too?

Genuinely surprised KF didn’t lose the team playing a clearly inferior quarterback. The team must have known sully was better during practice, etc. no way Cade outperformed Sully in practices

He may have. Look at the complete no-show at Michigan State. That had "we're so tired of this shit" written all over it.

Namely, when it came to Petras’s backup.
if you go back in history, slow to work in Banks into more series in Banks first year. Extremely slow to pull the plug on JC Christiansen, who proved he was a bum even at a directional school. Sticking with Vandenberg for every snap in a terrible offense year. . Slow to move from Ruddock to Beat hard. Then the past 5 years or so with Petras, Padillo, McNamara, Deacon---worst QB room in Div1.

The issue with the entire QB room being full of a bunch of plodders and busts was a KF issue on evaluating QB talent---he was stuck in 1990's and looking for 6'5 pro style QBs when the game had changed and you need your qB to be more mobile. Look at the pts per game and improvement in run game from BF/KF to this year from roughly 16 ppg to 29 ppg.....pretty clear that every thought KF/BF had on offense was not correct, which includes QBs, Oline blocking, and WR room.

KF is the one that turned making a QB Change into a big issue. Playing Padillo never hurt Iowa record. Playing Labas in Bowl game was actually a win. Playing Sullivan more/earlier might have led to a better record. Continuing to play McNamara the past couple game would have led to a worse record. Sullivan clearly better than McNamara---and that is the crux of the issue---KF is not good at evaluating QB play and not very good at offense.

He's like a career 65% passer. He's so much better than Cade it's ridiculous at this point.
Cade is better, are you watching the games? They can't stack because he will take off. It's a totally different D when you have to account for a running QB.
The only reason he's not passing more is Kirk's idiocy.
They aren't even utilizing him to his full talent.

Plus like 40:00 top vs 20:00.
How long can the D stand up?? Look at the D now, it's a miracle. Jumping around high fives, kicking ass, getting some rest. Sully has changed the whole team.
