agreed. victim of transferenceDon't understand the hate for Cade. Hope he does well
Maybe up a level in program prestige but not 2015 team quality.Ruddock.
That doesn't change the truth from the quote you responded too. Didn't dress and didn't walk with the seniors or travel with the team. Doesn't exactly scream "team guy"..He went where he could continue to compete for QB1 and with enough hard work, maybe, just maybe, he'll play the game he loves for one more season.
Says a lot about him.
How about Brian not wearing Iowa gear on the sideline, what did you have to say about that? That doesn't change the truth from the quote you responded too. Didn't dress and didn't walk with the seniors or travel with the team. Doesn't exactly scream "team guy"..
the 3 vets transferred out.Not sure if the W KY depth chart is fully updated but it shows:
Helton, Turner RS SO
Parks, Tucker FR
Tisdale Jr., Rodney FR
not exactly a lot of veteran QB's to beat out
I drank a few beers with Billy Gibbons in an unopened hotel bar during my first 10 minutes of ever being in Houston.Billy Gibbons, ZZ Top
The ZZ Top documentary on Netflix is awesome.I drank a few beers with Billy Gibbons in an unopened hotel bar during my first 10 minutes of ever being in Houston.
Just him & I.
True story
I enjoyed that as well. The ZZ Top documentary on Netflix is awesome.
Nice. I’ll have to check it out.The ZZ Top documentary on Netflix is awesome.
It’s a cool story how their producer came up with their trademark BIG sound with just 3 band members and then tricked Billy Gibbons into accepting it.Nice. I’ll have to check it out.
We talked about Iowa football, Texas football, Houston football, that famous brewery in Houston with the painted VW bug outside.
That was a beer I was drinking that started us talking.
It was when Tom Herman was leaving to be the Texas coach.
Funny part is I never asked him if it was him. I thought “you’ve been in Houston for 10 minutes & not every white guy with a beard & skull ring in Texas is a ZZ Top brother”.
We talked for 30 minutes while the bartender set up.
After I stepped out the concierge came up & was like that was Billy Gibbons.
Kind of a bummer I didn’t go with my assumption but he only moved over to sit by me because I didn’t hit him up right away. 🤷♂️
He was probably afraid he'd be booed by haters like you. I suspect it was a good thing he didn't walk. That doesn't change the truth from the quote you responded too. Didn't dress and didn't walk with the seniors or travel with the team. Doesn't exactly scream "team guy"..
I've always thought they take their music seriously, but they don't themselves seriously. A great combination. Supports my thought why he joined you for a beer, he wasn't too important in his own mind to talk to you.Nice. I’ll have to check it out.

All the best Cade. Just glad he’s never throwing in an Iowa jersey ever again. He was objectively awful. He went where he could continue to compete for QB1 and with enough hard work, maybe, just maybe, he'll play the game he loves for one more season.
Says a lot about him.
It was Brian Ferentz. Now hopefully we are picking ourselves up from the ashes. As an outsider, I've read "the hate" for Iowa QBs almost every year. Hint: it's not the QB - it's the coaching staff which - I'm sure - many have already figured out
I'm sorry, I thought we were discussing Cade. Had Cade been told he wasn't welcome to return and actually win the job this time, or did he just take his ball and go home once he wasn't starting? As for Brian it was a bad look, both for him and the school. Keeping him on when he had already been told he wasn't welcome back was bound to make a for a messy situation. I didn't care for what he did, and didn't care for how Beth handled it either. I was totally fine with her making a change, but the lame duck thing was silly. You can say his contract wasn't renewed, but in reality he was canned, and you can't keep the guy on after you can him.How about Brian not wearing Iowa gear on the sideline, what did you have to say about that?
I was bummed when Brents left. He was an athletic freak.Julius Brents went to K-State and ended up getting drafted
Oh yea, I'm "a hater".. Good Lord. I'm the farthest thing from a hater, ( I don't boo players), and he'd have had a hard time hearing me in Kansas City, don't you think? He was probably afraid he'd be booed by haters like you. I suspect it was a good thing he didn't walk.

I dunno, but these helmets are insane:Anyone know what that thing is?
From a pretty good source. The whole Maryland game week fiasco listed as starter then KF comes out and says still evaluating. Basically Cade cleared by team doctors and staff but he knew what to say for concussion symptoms because playing would hurt his chances for one more year and if Sullivan cleared for nebby he’d have gotten start over him.I'm sorry, I thought we were discussing Cade. That's Big Red. So when you hear Nebraska fans shouting Go Big Red, this is what they are referring to. Seems wierd I know.Anyone know what that thing is?
you mean successful with the ladies?Interesting comment Wilson. Obviously things have changed a lot. I had to do some work there every summer in high school. Yes the women were hot but only because it always seemed like it was 100°+ when I was there. Otherwise.. of course this was 50 years a go so....... Good luck to Cade. I hope he can get healthy and be successful.
I went and saw ZZ TOP last April at Surf Ballroom. The ZZ Top documentary on Netflix is awesome.
Add: As for Cade, it didn't work out the way everyone thought it would. But I do agree with others here that he bailed on the team at the end. Not coming out for senior day was petty. I doubt he would have been booed, but his actions after the NW game were self-centered and not team oriented. If he was booed, he brought that on himself. Best for him and Iowa that he's moved on.
sorry, you sound like one. I suspect Cade was afraid of booing and the unnecessary resultant embarrassment. But I'm speculating like other internet posters.Oh yea, I'm "a hater".. Good Lord. I have no issue with him playing at W Kentucky or wherever, if he can get the NCAA to give him year 7. I just think he could have handled things better. It does seem funny though if he's trying to get another year in hopes he'll show enough to get a shot at the league. Not only does he have such a checkered injury history but he'll be around 26 years old if he went in the draft after next season. Between his age, injury history and subpar play he'd have to win the damn Heisman to get drafted after next season.sorry, you sound like one. If Cade can find a way the play another year... good on him.
I hope she sees a doctor regularly - you know you can catch a disease in the ring. Ringworm and more . . .they had 3 QBs enter the portal. Yikes. 37 players total.
And I thought Gritty was the most bizarre mascot I'd ever seen!
kermit the frog's gay brother, eugene the frog?
Hmmm... Not a hater.I have no issue with him playing at W Kentucky or wherever, if he can get the NCAA to give him year 7. I just think he could have handled things better. He has none of the physical or mental tools necessary to be a successful NFL QB. None. This whole discussion is ludicrous.I have no issue with him playing at W Kentucky or wherever, if he can get the NCAA to give him year 7. I just think he could have handled things better. They have one of the best Holiday Inns in the world. Spent many a night at that hotel for work. It's a cool area, actually.I’d never been to Bowling Green, KY until driving through on the way to Nashville a few weeks ago. Long way from Reno, Ann Arbor & Iowa City in many, many ways…
Best of luck to CM during his last season ever wearing a football uniform….
Holy sh*t.From what I'm told, Cade is no longer going to WK. I'm not sure why, but likely because they also signed a QB transfer from Abilene Christian (Maverick McIvor - that's his real name) and they are bringing in the Abilene Christian OC to be QB's coach.
Justin JacobsYup.
When was the last Iowa transfer than left and actually moved up the college football ranks?
While Charlie Jones and Tyrone Tracy transferred within in the big ten, I suppose you could argue they moved to a better offensive system, but I'd still call it a lateral move.
