Add: As for Cade, it didn't work out the way everyone thought it would. But I do agree with others here that he bailed on the team at the end. Not coming out for senior day was petty. I doubt he would have been booed, but his actions after the NW game were self-centered and not team oriented. If he was booed, he brought that on himself. Best for him and Iowa that he's moved on.

We talked about Iowa football, Texas football, Houston football, that famous brewery in Houston with the painted VW bug outside.
That was a beer I was drinking that started us talking.
It was when Tom Herman was leaving to be the Texas coach.
Funny part is I never asked him if it was him. I thought “you’ve been in Houston for 10 minutes & not every white guy with a beard & skull ring in Texas is a ZZ Top brother”.
We talked for 30 minutes while the bartender set up.
After I stepped out the concierge came up & was like that was Billy Gibbons.
Kind of a bummer I didn’t go with my assumption but he only moved over to sit by me because I didn’t hit him up right away. 🤷♂️
It’s a cool story how their producer came up with their trademark BIG sound with just 3 band members and then tricked Billy Gibbons into accepting it.

I've always thought they take their music seriously, but they don't themselves seriously. A great combination. Supports my thought why he joined you for a beer, he wasn't too important in his own mind to talk to you.

I'm sorry, I thought we were discussing Cade. Had Cade been told he wasn't welcome to return and actually win the job this time, or did he just take his ball and go home once he wasn't starting? As for Brian it was a bad look, both for him and the school. Keeping him on when he had already been told he wasn't welcome back was bound to make a for a messy situation. I didn't care for what he did, and didn't care for how Beth handled it either. I was totally fine with her making a change, but the lame duck thing was silly. You can say his contract wasn't renewed, but in reality he was canned, and you can't keep the guy on after you can him.

From a pretty good source. The whole Maryland game week fiasco listed as starter then KF comes out and says still evaluating. Basically Cade cleared by team doctors and staff but he knew what to say for concussion symptoms because playing would hurt his chances for one more year and if Sullivan cleared for nebby he’d have gotten start over him.

If Cade can find a way the play another year... good on him.
I have no issue with him playing at W Kentucky or wherever, if he can get the NCAA to give him year 7. I just think he could have handled things better. It does seem funny though if he's trying to get another year in hopes he'll show enough to get a shot at the league. Not only does he have such a checkered injury history but he'll be around 26 years old if he went in the draft after next season. Between his age, injury history and subpar play he'd have to win the damn Heisman to get drafted after next season.

From what I'm told, Cade is no longer going to WK. I'm not sure why, but likely because they also signed a QB transfer from Abilene Christian (Maverick McIvor - that's his real name) and they are bringing in the Abilene Christian OC to be QB's coach.
They have one of the best Holiday Inns in the world. Spent many a night at that hotel for work. It's a cool area, actually.
