Anybody that left the Iowa offense from 2020 to 2023 automatically climbed up the college football ranks!
Funny thing it actually worked out better for Iowa too. Jacobs injured routinely last 2 years and we replace with Jackson who was great.Justin Jacobs
FCS is probably a better fit for him
Or they pulled his offer.Holy sh*t.
Dude who was a QB in the CFP is now shying away from transferring to a certain G5 school because he's afraid of competition from an incoming FCS transfer.
Ouch.

I think he really likes being “QB1.” I suppose it could be intoxicating.Michigan > Iowa > Western Kentucky >East Tennessee State
Talk about falling off a cliff. Given his health issues, why in the world is he doing this? I mean I was asking this question after he announced he was coming back last year. He must see this as some sort of redemption opportunity. Unbelievable.
At this point in his career I would put his odds of finishing a season as "QB1", even at East Tennessee State at less than 50/50. IMO he's simply not physically or mentally equipped to play that role anymore.I think he really likes being “QB1.” I suppose it could be intoxicating.
Blutarski was partying, not getting his already broken body beat up some more.Hell, why grow up if you don’t have to? Take the Blutarski route and stay in college forever.

A lot of truth to all of this, which is why I don't directly criticize CM too much. Like everyone else here, I have no idea what it must be like to be a big-time college QB, and have being an athlete as basically my sole identity for my entire life, and then start see that my charmed life is about to revert to the norm. I'd probably want to hang on to the glory days for as long as I possibly could. Heck, we see people fall apart after their H.S. sports days are over all the time.Hell, why grow up if you don’t have to? Take the Blutarski route and stay in college forever.
Yeah. Uncle Rico had a lot of trouble moving on too, but he finally landed that awesome plastic bowl sales gig.A lot of truth to all of this, which is why I don't directly criticize CM too much. "Probably?"He was probably afraid he'd be booed by haters like you. I suspect it was a good thing he didn't walk.

Hope he's ready for them to come a lot. He wasn't ready here.

He's hoping the East Tennessee collective will send him and the boyz to Cali for spring break.Michigan > Iowa > Western Kentucky >East Tennessee State

I actually did just mark my calendar. If that game is televised anywhere I’m going to find it.
The physical part is obvious, but why not mentally? At this point in his career I would put his odds of finishing a season as "QB1", even at East Tennessee State at less than 50/50. IMO he's simply not physically or mentally equipped to play that role anymore.
He was always late with the ball. Part of that is physical but it's also that he has no confidence in his ability to place the ball where it needs to be and when it needs to get there, so he hesitates instead of letting it fly. For a veteran he makes horrible decisions, seemingly throwing the ball up for grabs at times. He lacks pocket presence and an ability to know where the pressure is coming from and where to move to avoid it. And finally, he more or less quit on his last team. The physical part is obvious, but why not mentally?
Delivery was indeed late at times. Did that have to do with not getting enough reps with the new offense? Cade could only do the classroom portion and observe during spring practice. I thought he seemed pretty decent with pocket awareness, but perhaps that was just in comparison with what we've seen in the 2020s. He also seemed to do a decent job making his progressions. He had halves, though, where his mechanics were completely out-of-sync, which may well be as much mental as physical. You're probably right regarding confidence, and that may have to do with not being able play at the same level as he could previously. He might have still been trying to figure out what he could and couldn't do. (I know from experience that it is really disconcerting when your body no longer does what you expect it to do.)He was always late with the ball. Other than all of this he's great! 👍.
That's rough. I can only imagine Cade right now going...

Criswell got hurt early in Carolina's bowl game and I wasn't able to find any updates regarding the injury. Non-throwing shoulder. ETSU may need both guys to get through the season.
