Caitlin's Popularity Will Never Translate to the WNBA

*White people get so turned off by it. FTFY.
True. That represents a lot of money, so, not a smart move at all. Nice to pit groups against each other and cause tension.
I doubt a single black woman in the WNBA is turned off by it. Their black fans don't get turned off by it either. ISTG people on this site have never been around black people -- like they don't believe representation and equity matter. And we wonder why Iowa fans get such a bad rap.
This would be false. Many blacks arer sick and tired of this race baiting crapola. Why don't you offer to give me a dollar for every black person I can name that would be sick of this? Just do it. :)

Sure it was, CCs debut has drawn all kinds of attention. Whether those numbers last or affect the league overall in a sustained way… is a long way from being determined.
Having a big initial impact is not surprising. The wnba season starting shortly after CC's second straight NCAA champ game and all the hype of her final college season is a major factor in that.
Problem is being on a terrible team and her having to make adjustments as she learns what it takes to play against better competition is likely going to kill casual fan interest.
