I remember reading Colorado state champ Lucero committed to Iowa and the HWC back in 2019, but I don’t see him on the roster. Anyone know the scoop?

Lucero joins HWC
Cam Lucero of Pagosa Springs, Colorado has joined the Hawkeye Wrestling Club. Lucero was a member of the Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Class of 2021. Pardon my ignorance, but does that mean he’s not currently interested in competing collegiately? Are the HWC guys typically in the room competing against the collegiate boys during the D-1 season? Btw I attempted to read the article you posted, before starting this thread, and it’s been deleted (file not found). It’s why I started the thread.

As far as HWC and college team goes, as I understand it they do practice together. However, I believe that there are rules that limit it somewhat.
