Gonna start by saying I dropped my season tix this year after 10+ years. Tired of the mediocrity, tired of the crappy schedule, tired of the UI making the day as un-fun as possible. I also thought this team would suck.
Starting with the D - unreal. I can't remember such a good collective defense with so few standouts. King was obviously great. That was about it. They were so good tonight...held Sparty without a TD for over 59 minutes despite our O doing them zero favors. A bad LB core in 2014 turned into an strength. The DBs were awesome, even if you didn't notice the safeties being great. What an 11-man unit.
Offense...tonight, Greg Davis was great. Mixed it up, kept Sparty on their heels, mixed run and pass early. MSU was for real..this wasn't Purdue. Beathard was great too, and is such a leader. I'd take him as my guy anytime.
Losing this game was absolutely awful. but the way this team represented our university and our state was incredible. All year the talking heads wanted to discount them, and all they did was win. An absolute 'A' performance on the big stage tonight, and I'm not surprised at all after what they showed all year.
