Assuming they beat Drake and Tenn Tech, that will leave them 9-3 going into conference play.

A 10-8 conference record would leave hem 19-11 and right on the bubble, but probably in with a winning conference record possibly needing a tournament win to insure getting in.

Can they do it? They will likely be 1-3 after the first four conference games and after that it gets a lot softer.

Its iffy folks. Not going to the tournament with 4 seniors is not good. You can't blame Lick anymore.

Can't blame Iick or making the past 2 NCAA's? Yes, if they go 10-8 in the Big they are a virtual lock. Seems we have the same argument every year. An every year a 10-8 Big team makes the NCAA.

As big of a choke job last night was, and as pissed as I am, this is defenitly an NCAA tournament team. I'm hoping this loss can fuel them, they had to be pissed yesterday, losing 3 straight to a rival, including 2 that absolutely should not have been. Take care of business in the next 2, and beat Michigan State, and it will be like this loss never happened!

2-2 in the first 4 games would be good.

Uthoff has to be more determined, but I am not sure its in his makeup

I would be pretty shocked if this team doesn't make the dance. I think Iowa might finish top 4 in the BIG

Purdue, IU, Maryland, and MSU all look pretty solid.

If Iowa can finish in 5th I'd be shocked. This Big Ten is going to be the best conference in basketball this year. They are loaded with talent and Iowa is going to have to win every game on their home floor to get to 10 wins.

If they get 10 wins they will be in the dance.

IU has not impressed me at all. All of those teams you name are good teams yes. But Maryland and Purdue are the only 2 I think are clear cut better. Basketball is a long and grinding season. Iowa has the horses to compete and finish in the top 4.

10-8 (assuming we finish 9-3 OOC) we're in. Our OOC SOS is much improved. What this loss means in the grand scheme of things is we would have been able to go 9-9 and get in with a W tonight. Now 10 wins is pretty much a must.

Well, if all ole JR-he of "they won't win another game all season" after Boise State and "No chance to make the playoffs if they go undefeated" has to whine about today is they might not make the tournament if they go 10-8 in B1G, things are looking pretty good. Pretty pretty gooooood.

I just asked the question.

This team is maddening. Can play really well in stretches, but just disappears in others. They can go 10-8 or even better, but Uthoff just cant disappear in games.

I'll go on record right now. Iowa will beat a team it has no right beating (MSU, PU, or Maryland). But they will also lose to a team they have no right losing to (NW, Rutgers, Nebbie).

I thought have senior leadership and veteran players we would be over these late game collapses, but apparently not. I think Iowa can get to 10 wins, but they are going to have to beat some solid teams and protect home court. As we can see on the road, we can't finish.
