I know it's a Davis tradition, but someone take these kids aside and introduce them to Mr. First Down Marker. If I see one more 3 yard curl on 3rd and 9 I'm going to PUKE!!

You just now thought of this?

Lets wait and see how the first few games go first. Then come here and complain or eat your words.

You would be shocked how many of their original routes are past the sticks, the problem is they have to adjust and the QB has to hit them before they come back. JR & JV were the kings of the 3-4 route? I don' know if they were trying to set the % record or what?

Did anyone see Bobby Kennedy's quote the other day? Something about playing freshman WR, and he basically said that the system is too complicated and it confuses the young WRs. They are hesitant and don't use their full athleticism when their younger because they are confused???

My response to that, is MAKE THE SYSTEM Easier? My god I think Kennedy & Davis will be the end of KF. If this offense isn't improved this year, KF is going to have to cut the ties.

Davis likely had wideouts at Texas with a little more elusiveness to turn a short catch into longer yards. Dbacks are obviously cheating to protect against the first down at the marker. That said, I don't disagree with you one bit. You have be a threat to throw long to get a catch at the 1st down marker, and back off the dbacks far enough to have room to operate if thrown short. This point has been hashed and rehashed on these boards for years.

The 3 yard out play was worse on 3rd and 5. The opposing team did not even need a tackler as player momentum did the job.

no, davis coached them at texas to go out 3 yards and out when they needed 6 or 8. that's why he was run out of town here in Austin, I live here, I know. What he had was vince young
