Can Williams becomes #3 threat and spark?

There was that one game when he, ah, then there was another game when he almost scored. Clearly the DA highlight reel would end with the warm up's coming off, but man, that guy looked the part and had major hops.

Who was the guy under Lickliter that sat for most of the season, then went bonkers against Purdue and was never heard from again? Something Palmer or Webster?? Yikes, just had a series of horrible flashbacks.

David Palmer. Seton Hall transfer if I remember correctly.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I think Mike is under appreciated. I think he's a legit scoring threat when he's not being unselfish. Scoring 25 against Michigan State wasn't by accident. His pull-up jump shot is solid and it's a shame he doesn't let it fly more. I wish he would take it to the hole like he did at North Carolina and not because the shot clock is running down. When he's calling his own number good things usually happen at the rim.

"when he is calling his own number good things happen at the rim." If you enjoy seeing him get his shot swatted.

I certainly appreciate what MG has done on and off the court. I did expect a bit more scoring given his stats in high school, but the dude gives maximum effort all the time and never backs down from a challenge. By default, he gets stuck with the ball in his hands late in the shot / game clock and has to force the issue when teams overplay passing lanes. I think having a true 2 would have helped in this department, but nothing but respect for MG. He deserves a nice run in March.

A dream end to the season would be CW comes in and is capable of feeding AW in the paint and make Adam a double double machine.

I especially like how CW rebounds, compared to Mikey and Sapp. He has long arms in the zone which cause problems, too.

Some of these games we have lost at the end of the season we have had a REAL problem rebounding the ball. Our guards just seem to assume it isn't their job to block out. Watching Uhl is an exercise in showing my 10-year old how NOT to block out. He just turns wherever he is and watches the ball hit the rim. other teams go right around him and get the offensive RB and KILL US! He really needs to work on that. Wagner too. The guards for sure. So many 3 pointers bounce way off the rim and we almost never get those defensive boards.

Agree that rebounding has hurt us at critical junctures, but IMO, a lot of these have come on the weak side. Woodbury usually seals strong side unless a shot goes up when he is trying to recover from hedging the high ball screen (something I am not a fan of). This leaves Uthoff, who usually tries to block on a drive to the hoop out of position or someone isn't rotating. In other cases there have been some long bounces on 3's or athletic freaks like Williams for Indiana come flying in from behind and jump over us. I do agree that CW gives us another guy to crash the glass with and to block or affect shots.
