Church going boomers grooming their children got us into this mess. It’s interesting that you equate going to church with being a better human. Churches give me a cringey cult vibe. I feel best after being out in nature, but that’s just me.
I’m about to take the dogs on a nice long walk and I’ll feel great afterwards knowing I accomplished something. If you feel a sense of accomplishment after going to church, great, but that seems absurd to me.

The church is a large part of the problem. In church, they not only endorse Donald Trump they celebrate him. Why would any sane person want to join that?
Imagine having an issue with sex and going to Stormy Daniels for counseling; or dealing with a penchant for violence and seeking support from Charles Manson; or having a problem with marriage fidelity and hitting up Donald Trump for advice.
Any reasonable person would say all of that is insanely stupid. Well, getting moral guidance from the same people who not only helped create the MAGA problem but still wholeheartedly endorse it is no different.
If spirituality hinges on lies and abject stupidity, then MAGA would be a paradigm of metaphysical sensibilities.
OLD Crazy Filthy Don uses religion for his OWN purposes, and then walks away from it when he has fuc'd his opponents.
If a church openly endorses Donald Trump, I'd recommend leaving.

You’re apparently going to the wrong churches then? I always feel uplifted after going to my church. They aren’t pushy about membership, etc, and they never discuss politics. I believe in separation of church and state.

Haven’t been to a church in years, but I was forced to go to a Catholic Church growing up. I did visit my cousin’s Lutheran church once and it wasn’t as doomy and gloomy. Still felt like a cult though.

Jesus was an okay dude, but he was only a man just like you or me. He definitely isn’t the son of a god just like his mom wasn’t a virgin. Some people are just so gullible it’s embarrassing.
I am Catholic and our Priest do not preach politics. They never have. I feel incredible after going to Mass. I know that there are many, many, who do not believe and will not be convinced that Jesus is their savior. I also try very hard to put my faith into action by volunteering and donating as much as I can to help people in need. But, there is so much more I could do.
I also pray for everyone as they cross over from this life through death that the Holy Spirit guides them.

One of the hardest things for me to grasp is everyone that voted for him could see his nonsense yet they voted for him or mostly Chase Oliver as they will claim. Where the hell is the disconnect.
I don't know that they preach "politics" per se. I think it has more to do with the belief that this strain of Christianity aligns more closely with their world view. Christian Nationalism is a very powerful component within the MAGA movement today and there is no separation in their world between ideological and political beliefs.
