Time to put on a show so we can get WORLDS.
We have a winner! Got the Iowa River for boating events and the aquatic center for swimming. Brand new track in the Rec Building. Everything else is just details.
Wrong answer. Olympic officials don't make money from hosting events in existing venues. Everyone knows contractors pay the best bribes in this environment. I'm guessing they will start by tearing down CHA and rebuild to exactly the same specs on the same site. And they'll have to divert another river through Iowa City just to make the numbers work. (From a bribery standpoint.)
I'm comforted by the fact that we will have the Gable statue watching over the godless comm-a-nists visiting IC, even while we sleep.

If he wants to be gracious towards the fans, then I'm sure we'd all be gracious back. However, I'm guessing he's going to have to battle a HWC wrestler, and he'll want to draw attention to that. So yeah, I don't think it'll be necessarily a great welcoming home party.
The ball is in his court. All depends on how Tony wants to be perceived in my opinion. Iowa will welcome him with open arms if he does it the right way... or he can be the villain which he played up all through college. His call.
I think Ramos deserves a good booing when he comes back. If he wanted to leave that's one thing, but the way he left was unacceptable. He threw the program and coaches under the bus.
We shouldn't hold it against him for ever, so one good boo when he's announced at first would suffice. Then we can cheer for him to win all of his matches after that.

You do realize that if Ramos is wrestling at World Cup that he'd have USA on his chest. If you booed him I'd likely punch you in the throat. This isn't Ramos vs the World...it's USA vs the World
That's why I said cheer him on in his matches against the world.
We should be able to voice our dissatisfaction with him too. He deserves to be booed in Carver Hawkeye Arena after what he did.
Awesome! Glad it's finally official. We need to pack the place. Anything less than a sellout is unacceptable.
I believe Gable was wining and dining the reps during Night of Conflict. They introduce the guy, just can't remember his name off hand
Thanks also to IAwrestle for NOC, as that's when Gable was wining and dining the reps. Without that, the reps don't see first hand how passionate Iowans are about wrestling.
