Negotiations took months. Pretty unlikely Trump was pivotal in them especially since he hadn't even won the election when they began.

Why would I answer someone seriously who so phucked in the head he refers to President Trump as "rapist boy?" Hamas doesn't care about palestine, dummy, they care about themselves. Are you so dense you can't grasp the difference?
It's a simple question. What can Trump do that hasn't already been done? Why would Hamas watch 80% of Gaza get reduced to rubble then suddenly get scared when the guy who gave Afghanistan to the Taliban makes an empty threat?

Well, he might pull another Jerusalem. "Recognize" that the whole West Bank belongs to Israel, for example. Maybe all of Gaza, too, so that Jared can start developing those Mediterranean beaches. And, of course, he could decide that Israel is entitled to keep Southern Lebanon and the additional parts of Syria they now occupy.
Those things don't necessarily affect Hamas, but still....
The simple truth is that Hamas has been eager for a cease fire for almost a year. Israel always blames them when the frequently announced deals fall apart, but it's usually Israel pulling the plug.
People who don't know that, don't have enough foreign news sources.

This isn't about Hamas,.. It's about Israel doing what Trump wants done, after telling Joe to piss up a rope for the past 8 months...
if one were to be an adult about it, everybody's getting something out of this.
1. Biden's getting to say they got this done on his watch (and perhaps later that trump ****ed it up), though from where I sit any agreement that says "phase 2 and phase 3 are TBD" is pretty much destined to long term failure.
2. Trump gets to say he helped push the deal, and he gets some near term quiet.
3. Israel gets Trump and some hostages back.
4. Gaza gets some respite (and lord knows what else comes in on those trucks).
Totally agree,.. But If this were totally up to Israel I believe they would keep going until there was zero response from Hamas.
they certainly wouldn't be done yet. but I do think bibi's line of credit is not infinite in terms of his domestic majority
