***Championship Week Thread***

Purdue will eat OSU alive if they play the same way tomorrow. Lots of offense, but little D and lack of composure with the turnovers, etc.

Like seeing georgetown knock off 'nova. I'm rooting for Patrick Ewing to bring that program back to relevance. Might be some holdover respect on my part that I have for the late, great John Thompson.

So when do we get the announcement that little ricky has gotten the axe?

I think we already have, unofficially, its just needs to be made officially official. The "3+ stars added to each side of a thread title" kind of official.

WTH are with these rims in Indianapolis? Might be some of the more unforgiving rims I’ve seen in a while!

It favors Iowa - an elite offense with some very good shooters - so I'm ok with it.........

until they lose tomorrow night because of some missed shots - getting no 'rim help' - then I'll cuss out the rims. lol

This is our opportunity to buck the trend of blaming the refs or Fran for our losses. I’ve got an original and totally legitimate excuse if Iowa doesn’t win the tournament

Who's got the best shot of upsetting Illinois tomorrow night? Both RU and IU are on the wrong side of "finished strong". Maybe IU, with the 'home' advantage??

I think I'd rather Iowa face Illinois on Saturday afternoon, regardless. Especially if Wieskamp is good to go this weekend. Hope the Hawks see that game the same way I do, "got revenge on the mind"; plus although the chance of it happening is probably really slim, replacing ILL on the 1-line is still a slight possibility.

Some mountain west drama early

Still got another whole half to go, but Nevada already has 51 on the board and up 8.

I don't miss Alford, but he's a conference tournament guru. No matter where his team finished the season, they're a threat to make a run in the conference tournament. UCLA might have been his only stop where he didn't do some real damage in that type of environment, but I think they had at least one even there (w/ his son).

If I'm RU, I keep it close, but let IU burn themselves out. They're flying high now, but can they keep it up?

Who we rooting for?

A good 2nd half. (but ideally RU, to help solidify their bid status and also because I don't like IU)

That goes a couple OTs.

And then the winner of the next game is decided after (at least) 3 OTs.

Sharon Versyp could be out at Purdue. I wonder if Madison Lehman were to enter the transfer portal if Iowa would reach out. Clark and Lehman together would be a lethal combination.

Kudos to the Terps for putting the Spartans out of their misery. I like the Terps, hope we meet them in the finale.

^ UCLA lost.

Talk about a team that is severely underachieving. They should have been battling Oregon & USC for the league title, but instead choked as the season wound down.

Still will probably be a Tourney team, but a very low seed.
