"Everybody's got dirty hands in this whole thing," Barkley said. "ESPN, which I love, the money they make on college basketball. Myself and CBS, what we make on March Madness. What the NCAA makes on all these sports, the shoe companies who follow kids to certain schools, their hands are dirty. And the kids who take their money. They don't have to take that money.

"There's nobody who's got clean hands in this whole scenario. It's a dirty business. It's unfortunate, but let's don't act like we can pass the buck to any particular group in this whole thing. The NBA is dirty. They started this whole thing with the one-and-done scenario. They're implicated in it also... Let's tell it like it is: Everybody's involved. Everybody's making money off these kids."

The outspoken broadcaster and former All-Star added that Tuesday's news shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

"It's been there forever, and now everybody wants to act like they're totally in shock now, and they're just full of crap," he said. "This stuff has been going on forever."

"Everybody's making money off these kids."

I haven't. For all the decades I've followed the sport all I've ever wanted is fair, clean competition...and to root for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

And Chuck. You and the whole stinking business should understand that you REALLY make money off of people like me. You are just using those kids to do it.

I am really hoping more universities and more coaches get dragged into this.

What hasn't Arizona's Sean Miller said anything yet?

Has there ever been a school caught cheating in any sport that one or more of their supporters does not say everyone is doing it?

Message to Sir Charles. I doubt many people are shocked Chuck, only shocked that someone is finally getting charged.

Has there ever been a head coach or administrator who didn't say they were "shocked" and knew nothing about it?

Barkley's statement about "everybody" making money off those kids is really broad. It may be true in the "Macro" view, but not the "Micro" view. There are clean programs, but how many networks actually laud those? It's good to see that something will be done to bring the sport "Back Down To Earth". When the money is gone, will there then be more parity? Will grades and sportsmanship increase? I know that the level of respect for many clean programs will rise. I strongly believe that our program is top notch. Just this fan's opinion.

Although I disagree with parts of the Barkley statement, I will say that I admired his sense of humor when Ernie Johnson received his Emmy Award for Broadcasting. He said, "Emmy, that sounds like a woman's name."

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy Sir Charles frankness and uncensored take on all things basketball, but he's completely wrong here. Not everyone is doing this, not even close.

Every time issues like this come up my co-worker from Ohio (big OSU football fan) says the same thing, "everyone is doing it" as if saying that makes it ok to knowingly support the practice of it and your 'dirty' team.
