Heaven, Iowa
And he is right. He tweets "If not for the Minnesota screw-job," Iowa would be the 4 seed in the BTT.

The Top 4 seeds would be:
1. 14-4, 25-6 Purdue
2. 12-6, 24-7 Maryland
3. 12-6, 23-8 Wisconsin
4. 11-7, 19-12 Iowa

Minnesota, N'western, Michigan and Mich State would all follow at 10-8 and round out the Top 8 seeds.

If not for the Minnesota screw-job Iowa would be 11-7 in Big Ten and have a double-bye to the quarters

The inept officiating in this conference may very well cost the conference another tournament team.

what sucks, too? We should have beaten Illinois at home, which would have given us at least the 3 seed, and possibly the 2 seed (we split with Maryland, so not sure what the tie breaker would be)

This team was oh so close to having a very special record

Throw in the Maryland game at home when Iowa was down three, Trimble throws the ball out of bounds on the trap by Iowa, NFL official Gene Starator bails him out with a foul when there was no foul. He was behind the play and didn't have a good view to make the call but still did. Thought Fran was going to go postal. I know I did.

Really bad call that cost Iowa that game - instead of possesion w/ ball down three, Melo gets two foul shoots to go up 5 w/ less than a minute. You can't make that call to decide the game. Not a fan Gene.

Sheesh, keep dragging that cross around if it makes you feel better.

Did Iowa get screwed by every other loss this year too?

Sooner or later, maybe fans better move on. The team sure's hell has. Glad they aren't sitting around feeling sorry for themselves.

I missed that one out of town on business. Do we win if they get that call right??!!!

more than likely because Iowa was up 2 at the time and would have gotten the ball out of bound. Of course, they would have tried to get the ball to Jok or Brady, since MN would have been forced to foul with under 30 seconds left in the game; 3rd option to get the ball to would have been JoBo. All 3 are shooting 88% or better from the FT line.

He's an Iowa fan but that game the committee should about, also know cook was out in the beginning of the season, which started 3-5. 15-8 since. They do that with other teams why not Iowa.

Also why in the big ten standing is Illinois record 18-13 they played a non D1 school which doesn't count as a win but doesn't effect your RPI. Shouldn't it say 17-13?

He's got a voice as a ESPN guy he should use it to help Iowa out but the refs screwed up and the conference now wishes that it would have been called fair.

At that time nobody thought Iowa would make the tourney but Minnesota was like 4-6 so the conference was probably happy with the double bad call first the timeout not called and second and guys foot out of bounds.

Now the conference probably wishes it didn't happen due to 8 teams in the tourney and instead of probably 7. I think with that win we would be a lock even with a first game lose in the BTT.

Minny gets either Penn St, Nebby, or Michigan St Friday. If we can take care of Indiana, keep the momentum going against Wisky, then we go to Saturday. Glad Minny is on the other side of the bracket.

I'm figuring Maryland will advance also get to Saturday.

Usually cherry-picking games and saying "should have" is a useless discussion, but in this case it does deserve some merit. That one call late in the game clearly decided the outcome of the game (although Iowa still had a chance to win in the OT periods) - it was not a "judgement call;" the dude was out-of-bounds. Not only that, but the Hawks went into a bit of a tailspin after that, losing their next two (including home to Illinois), and didn't seem to get their heads out until the second half of the Indiana game.

I don't know if teams prepare "resumes" for the NCAA Committee, but I think that Iowa needs to make sure the Committee is aware of that fiasco. Pointing out the Cook injury early on, and the fact that the 2 bad losses were >3 months ago and most of the good wins very recently is also something the Committee could use to bump the Hawks up a bit.

BTW, Iowa is undefeated vs. Indiana in the BTT (2-0).

Luuuuuuuke.....for all time great hawks people dont mention him ever it seems. Maybe it's because he only play 2 seasons?? Man if they could of had a third option on that team when he and Evans were seniors they would have been good. If I recall they were ranked 8th to start the year. Did Iowa beat Indiana in the BTT both of his years or just 1?

Won the Big 10 title game vs Indiana his Jr year but he didn't play due to injury. Won on his buzzer beater the following year.
