CJ doesn't like the Badgers...

That kinda attitude is part of why they got the win. Have to have a little edge to have the mental toughness this team does.
Oh I agree ... I love the grit shown by this team ... Wisky was definitely talking smack as well ... Maybe it's CJ's comment in general ... "get the f&ck out of my gym ..."

Now, I would expect that comment if we won by 20 ...

And when they were going through the handshake line, someone leaned in to give Garza a hug. Garza told him to fvck off. Apparently, our boys didn't appreciate Wisky's "style" of play.

No one likes Wisconsin's style of play. Except maybe these guys:

They won the game despite a piss poor shooting performance. They won because of gritty play and pretty good defense. I'm happy to hear that kind of attitude after any win. Wisconsin is a rival and whenever they end up on the losing end is a good day. Would you rather they just be "aw shucks" sorry to beat you?

I read Garza's lips to say "Get the fvck out of my face" as he exited the handshake line. This was on the Big Ten Wrap Up show last night. They showed the clip but made no comments about the lip reading. lol

I'm guessing here, but I would bet money that someone from Wisky said something to him while he was on the floor at the end of the game. He jumped up and got the T, and although he plays with fire, he doesn't seem like that kind of player.

Pritzl. Basically walked right over him and could tell he said something to Garza as he was holding his face on the floor

Pritzl. He took a look over his shoulder when Luka got up and talked back.
Im still not happy that Luka drew a foul for saying something. They were talking all night themselves and I didn't see them get whistled.
Of course that would be expecting consistancy from the refs and that jobnis just too hard to expect that.

That foul might have just been a result of a culmination of talking and an attempt to get the teams to check themselves. That certainly doesn't make it right, but they were getting chippy towards the end of the game.

Leave it to Ole Bo to be Johnny on the spot too and fire off that T.

Not sure if WI guy said anything, but he definitely steps over Garza’s head and looks back. Wisconsin’s team is filled with dirty, cheap shot little punks.

Not exactly a game where any Iowa player should be talking smack ... Iowa was very fortunate to get the win ... Wisconsin is a scrappy team ...

Come on, anybody should know it’s a game exactly like this when things get “chirpy”. If you’re blowing a team out there is little “smack talk” unless there is a history (which also could have been the case here). So let me get this straight, because Iowa players shot the ball poorly it’s a “game where any Iowa player should not be talking smack”. Had they got their ass beat I’d say they shouldn’t be talking smack. They WON the game.

Personally, it was refreshing to see Iowa not back down, go toe to toe with Wisky where, in years past, we seemed to cower and fall apart when teams got physical with us. I remember a few games were White got pushed or poked in eye and we simply crumbled...now it seems to light even a bigger fire and everyone dives in and has each other's backs!

Ya I don’t think Iowa shot enough free throws

What did WI shoot, nine FTs’? That’s kind of crazy since they shot two within 28 seconds of the game and two more with 2.6 seconds left of the game. The 39 minutes in between they only shot five which included two with 10 seconds left in the first half. Mostly dictated by their style of offense.

Borowski originally called a double tech. He pointed to someone in the Wisconsin huddle and Garza. I can’t believe Borowski allowed Davison to semi aggressively grab Bo’s arm in protest.

When they ran the review I think they just reviewed the contact to luka’s face and deemed in a basketball play. (Which I agree with). They must have assumed that’s what Luka reacted to and not reviewed the tape further to see that punk Pitzel talk shit when Luka was on the ground.

Wisconsin has always had a player or two that was annoying. But man, they are surely multiplying.

I did notice that number 12? asked Connor if he wasn’t ok after he fouled him fairly hard.

Thank you.

I could have sworn I saw Boroski initially point to Wisconsin. I was on the other side across from the Iowa bench so I didn’t have the best view. I thought they called a Tech on Wisc and was a little surprised it was just Iowa after the review.

On the TV replay, I didn’t see Bo point to Wisconsin at all and I agree he allowed Davison to grab him in the mix. The only thing I can think of why he let it go was because Bo put his arm into Davison to separate the players. Not sure if the mitigates grabbing an official or not, but it must have here.

I disagree with the "basketball play" aspect. It was a follow through reaching for the ball that completely entered Garza's cylinder and made forcible contact above the shoulders. The would be the same as the other elbows that have been called flagrant throughout the year.

Not a basketball play. I'm not one to typically play this card, either. Watch that play regular speed. Now stand up, reach for some overhead light fixture like it's a ball above you, now naturally let your arms fall. Now repeat except now bring your arms down with force. Now do the same thing but actually keep your arms moving towards the imaginary ball above you. These are the three basic "plays" one can make. What Ruevers did is the middle one. He aggressively brought his arms down not toward the flight of the ball but rather towards others competing for that same ball. Essentially what he is doing is aggressively flailing to impede others and create space. Garza isn't going to react to just getting hit, even if some goof has something to say to him.

Players get the benefit of the doubt, as they should. But Ruevers made a play worthy of consideration of a Flagrant 1. And Garza was justified in reacting, be it to Ruevers and/or to Pritzl.

In some ways, with the game in hand, I’m kind of surprised Garza played those last couple seconds. It’s those game end situations where emotions are a bit raw that something cheap can happen and potentially impact future games.

Just a thought.
You didn't want our best rebounder in the game on defense up 5?
