Wanny knows football but not always all the names...he has been high on the Hawks for quite a while now though.
I don't get paid a million dollars to know this stuff and have basic competence. If I did I probably wouldn't. Especially on national tv. Anything else
Give you a ton of money to talk about 50 different teams, 100 percent chance you would at some point make a mistake.
I worked on the radio for free...and when you are trying to come up with names on the spot...you make mistakes.

OMG this is bulletin board material. CJ is being disrespected by being called one of the most elusive athletes in college football in the last 10 years.
I do have to give the OP credit though. I thought the butthurt crew had uncovered every conceivable slight possible by the national media against the Hawks before he started this thread. He indeed broke new ground.

Part of the reason the national media trolls Iowa like they're doing is because of the fact that a good number of our social media-using fanbase...........FREAKS THE F*** OUT when something like this happens.
And the stuff you said about the guy is extremely mild by comparison to what people would say through e-mails and online on those sports websites (ex: ESPN.com).
So Joe Talk-Show Host sees this and decides to say something outlandishly incorrect about Iowa and low and behold the f***ing phones light up and the social media firestorm rages on for a solid week................and it's exactly what they wanted to happen. And this does happen.
But by all means, we should make a big deal about these kind of things.
P.S. No I'm not saying it's not worth mentioning at all, and we can joke about it. The problem is TOO MANY of our fans really do take this much more seriously than they should, and that is actually part of why we get trolled by certain media members.
