CJ Update

Spoke with Joe Fredrick again today. It is a high ankle sprain and it's not good. The good news (maybe) is that Joe said CJ is usually a VERY quick healer. Let's hope that is the case. We sure need CJ.

6-8 weeks,.. see you next year CJ..

People take charges all the time, how often are ribs broken from it? Three separate injuries in less than 2 years should bring durability into question.
When someone is 6'9 and maybe 240 lbs. running over you, give or take, probably a lot more often than you think. As far as a sprained ankle, that happens.

This injury BS just really sucks and bums me out. Can't be very competitive with so few players in a very physical league.

The other high ankle I remember vividly is Canzeri from the 2015 FB team going down vs. NW. I think he didn't return until the Big Ten title game, which was probably around six weeks. We shall see...

Not so fast my friend! Round 1 of NCAA Tourney would be about 35 days away and if he's a somewhat quick healer, I'm sure he'd try and give it a go at 75-80% being it's Tourney Time!

Absolutely. NCAA tournament. Game on SON!

He'll be chomping at the bit to get back out there by then.

Big difference between a syndesmosis tear(high ankle sprain) and Achilles tendon rupture. Even a minimally competent athletic trainer wouldn't confuse the two.

But have we received any official word yet or are people just assuming it is a high ankle sprain. It never seemed like his ankle rolled at all, which is usually something you see on an ankle sprain.

Pat has already played this year, so a medical hardship is his only option.
I know, I was stating a fact that you can’t play at all once the regular season starts or you burn the normal redshirt, implying medical is his only option.

I spoke with Joe Fredrick this morning and he was at the game and spoke with CJ last night and today and confirmed it was a high ankle sprain and it didn't look good. I consider his Uncle Joe an extremely good source. He did say that CJ is typically a very fast healer.

Austin ash time. It’s really our only choice in terms of guard depth after Bakari. Kriener to the starting lineup. A bench of pemsl, Bakari, Ash, and Till.
What about Baer's little brother, BooBoo?

Doh! You are correct sir...he housed two long runs in that game, my bad.
Re injured it in the championship game if I remember...

Which is why all three of our PG need to spend every minute they can working on their 3 point shot. We cannot win with teams knowing that JoeW and Garza are the only guys worth defending outside the paint.

Connor has demonstrated that he can pull from deep. I agree that Joe T and Bakari need to improve on the 3 ball.

did we not destroy a top ten team doing exactly that?

More off-season weight training, w/ regular leg days.
Reps, not big weights. Build endurance and durability.

Hope he can heal up quickly, because his perimeter shooting has been on-par with anyone in the BT this year. Not sure any of us realized how good a player this kid was - he's lived up to the hype. He and JW play well above expectations of typical underclassmen.

There’s no guarantee we’re in the tournament. If I’m on the committee and there is a team with 8 or nine straight losses who is under 500 in their league and has less than 20 wins that’s not a very attractive record.

Garza may be a wildcard for us as I’m sure the committee would like to have him play.

hes not the answer . reason hes a walk on

Weren't many posters dissing CJ upon his arrival, even questioning him getting a sckollly? And now the opposite has played out. If only folks held their judgment on CJ.

Wasn't Baer a walk on....& then he's 6th man of year.

Give Ash a chance b4 dissing him, as well.
Just MHO.

Do you understand what the odds are of us losing out?
