Clark/Reese incident on CNN

The panel basically defended Reese’s actions. Of course they didn’t show the 13 seconds of her disrespecting Clark while the game was still being played.
It was CNN of course they did. I live out West and the one thing I can tell you out here is that 80% of people west of the rockies feel the same way that Iowan's do. The refs were terrible and the LSU players and coaches were absolute trash. It's in all of our media comments. PAC 12 fans got a taste of who LSU really is when they played Utah. Lets just say nobody is a fan out west here of the LSU players and coach. The media is trying to cover for just how trashy LSU is.

Not surprised at all. CLINTON NEWS NETWORK.

Yes, this works, I prefer Communist News Network but same thing really.

I still chuckle when I think back at Ted Cruz’s comment when Fidel Castro’s brother stepped down/ forced out a few years back. Said something to the effect that “Castro should go to CNN as they will gladly hire him.”

Defending the indefensible. What is wrong with people today?

It's a divisive topic that drives traffic and traffic sells ads. Eventually Hawkeye fans need to come to terms with the fact that we are a prideful bunch with a weakness for getting too caught up, and that that weakness is very easy for opinion makers to exploit.

Lot of hate flying around as it is. I wonder how bad it would be if Clark had noticed or cared about being taunted.
Don't think for one second she didn't see it. After all, one of the greatest assets a point guard can have is great peripheral vision. I'm sure she did care and it is something that will be used as motivation. She talks and is pretty demonstrative herself so it's an understood part of the game that at some point it will be given to you too. She just had a bit more class and control.

And yes, I completely understand what she and Reese did were different things - prolonged taunting vs. a one second action.

Clark is a leader. If she was whining this situation would be even worse.

Show me an example of Caitlin (or anyone) following an opponent in the closing seconds of a win to figuratively spike the ball in their face out of petty jealousy then repeatedly lying about why ever since and I'll rip Caitlin too. The examples given to show Caitlin "doing the same" amount to saying that going 5mph over the speed limit is the same as going 50mph over because they are both speeding. Even if Caitlin's actions in other games are wrong, there are degrees of wrong and the people attempting smear her when she has stayed out of the debate in order to defend Angel are awful.

The whole point is that Reese basically was stalking CC around the court those 12-15 seconds which is really weird. When I saw it initially live and they only showed a couple of seconds it was no big deal. But later I saw a full clip and it was a very strange action by an athlete or anyone who was a winner let alone on a losing team.

Her actions resulted from:

Immaturity + possible mental health issues + having a coach who is nowhere near the person or leader that Lisa Bluder is.

Well said. Interesting that the Iowa players, coaches and university have said nothing but positive things about LSU. They have moved on since the game and are celebrating with their fans.

It is our liberal media stirring the pot after social media was trashing AR, LSU and their coach.

CNN is one of the worst offenders of defending unacceptable behavior in today's society. Never watch that channel, ESPN or the major networks unless I have to.

We have a black family living down the street. They are a very nice family, hard working, educated and great people. Children play with other kids in the neighboorhood, with no issues. My wife and I don't look at them any different than others in the neighborhood. Why are there those people who are always dividing people? Why divide by race, religion or country of origin? Sad what our country has become.

To be fair, Angel Reese is a national champion and outstanding player of the tournament.

That she is. My understanding is you must have at least a 2.0 grade point to be eligible for any national awards and she fell short. I'm pretty sure Kim Mulkey will make sure those in charge will take care of that for the next WBB season.

I wish our fans had half the class of our of our coach and players. I just got back from the game. Yes it was disappointing to lose and see Angel taunting Clark. But young people have said and did things regrettable forever. It’s no excuse it happened, but what’s our excuse for all this hate and slander. The coach’s and players have busted their butt to get us to the final four and title Game. What fun ride this year has been

Maybe, but I don't think pointing out a student's academic challenges does anything but perpetuate the pettiness. There is no honor to be won in this conversation and the longer it goes on the worse Iowa will be perceived, justified or not.
