Clark/Reese incident on CNN

Thanks for posting that biggreydog. When Jason Whitlock was in KC, I always liked him for the most part. He's no Uncle Tom but he'll call out black players and those in society if their on the wrong side, without any concern from the backlash, and yes, I've heard plenty of folks calling him an Uncle Tom from time to time. He was spot on with his comments in this situation.

There is a lot of truth right there. I'm really glad a black guy said it because this has been one of the most tribal of issues that I can remember.
J Whit has always called a spade a spade, (pardon the pun) and been called out by the black community before. Loved his columns when he was in KC, and when he used to appear on the Sports reporter with Mike Lupica, Dick Schapp, John Saunders, Jeremy schapp and Bill Roden. Whitlock and Roden used to get into it pretty good.

Whitlock also tweeted about ESPN for leading off Sportscenter with a story about Caitlin’s performance and Iowa beating Indiana, I believe with something about “knowing your audience,” as in, nobody cares about women’s BB. He’s a jackass, IMO.

If you were a national brand and was looking for a womens bball player to be your spokesperson, who would you pick after watching that? I dont believe that Angel is looking too far ahead when acting like that. I cant imagine that it will do her well financially from NIL.
Sadly the type of behavior Angel shows I fear is being rewarded now compared to how it once was. Goodbye morals and accountability…

I agree, the whole experience was fun. The Hawkeye huddles were a hoot and interchange between fans their all good. Social media gives us so much, yet has his it’s dark side.
Great to hear!

Outside a couple message boards, my "social media" interaction consisted of rabbit ears on the 19" television, rotary telephone (upgraded with a 15' coiled handset cord), and the neighborhood basketball games played on bare dirt in the backyard (finally got a new red, white and blue net).

Still waiting to see "all the disrespect" Clark showered on LSU supposedly justifying the Reese and Morris after-game meltdowns. Surely they must have recorded interviews, tweets, or audio sound bites. Where are they? The fact is they have nothing, zilch! It was all manufactured bs by two very bitter women. Glad to see Caitlin smartly ignore their phony outbursts and simply let these two continue to make fools of themselves.
There are a ton of hot takes from this, first off the comparison scenarios are ridiculous. Angel was most assuredly and purposefully, trying to **** with her…

Caitlyn did take the high road, and she is extremely smart for doing so, even if it was sincere, and it certainly seems sincere, but if not, she has incredible coaching…

There is no way for Angel Reese to come out of this smelling well, and there would’ve been no “smelling” well for Iowa, had Caitlyn come out throwing barbs.

But they handled it exactly right!

Th disrespect thing as it pertains to South Carolina and not guarding their three-point shooter, holy shit man..”do what you do” is all I can say.

Use whatever you can to motivate yourself, but that’s a ghost!!

This has brought out a lot of ugliness but all this controversy is a dream come true for women's basketball. The coverage has been unprecedented and I'm seeing posters on here that I've never seen posting about WBB. It's like WWE meets women's basketball. Maybe not the classiest but that shit sells in America.

I kinda wish CC would have gotten in AR's face with a big smile and an "I see you, bitch and we will meet again" attitude when she followed her around instead of pretending like she didn't see it but she probably did the right thing by ignoring it. It's amazing how mature CC is for how young she is. She has handled it better than I would have imagined

I also thought Lisa Bluder did an amazing job as did Monica Cizano !

On Saturday, it was racist for the cameras to have the audacity to show Aliyah Boston and her teammates after South Carolina lost....

Then by Sunday it was racist if you didn't like that a player on the losing team was chased around and taunted at the end of the game...

As she said, "its all about protecting', "my sisters". Clark is not "a sister", so there you go....

It's sad that poor sportsmanship has become acceptable to so many people.
Do you think that folks getting out of the officiating business is "fake news"? Fans are assholes for the most part. I have been an advocate of playing "Little League" ball games on Wednesday mornings at 10 am for most of my adult life for a reason.

Maybe, but I don't think pointing out a student's academic challenges does anything but perpetuate the pettiness. There is no honor to be won in this conversation and the longer it goes on the worse Iowa will be perceived, justified or not.

Except her below 2.0 (1.6?) GPA tells plenty about what's important to her and why she is in school. Not pettiness, since academics should be why she should be in school.

He's 100% correct. Had the roles been reversed, Reese would have gone Worldstar on Clark. And the media would be supporting her.
The crooked media you mean like CNN and MSNBC

Not in response to any particular post, but why are some lumping Boston together with Reese for criticism. They seem like very different personalities. I haven't thoroughly looked at tapes, but I haven't seen anything that Boston did or said to deserve heavy criticism. Resse is another story, but if CC is ok with her ridiculous antics, I think we all should move on.
