Just curious if all those who want kf fired think that Iowa football will be competing for B1G championships with the next coach?
Iowa is a looong way from the big boys in college football 💰 and i don’t see how a change at the top is going to fix that.

I think most fans are simply saying they’re bored with Kirk ball. They’re tired of the same script of playing scared and not to lose. They’re sick of the same piss poor clock management issues and Kirk trying to run and hide with less than a two touchdown lead.

that is fine, i will be watching just for the chance to see even great individual plays. we are in a tougher league now unless we go to four 5 team divisions but we stiil can play some really good football

I will continue to attend a couple games a year, watch them on TV maybe a half dozen times a year and miss watching them 3-4 times a year. Been my MO ever since NIL, portal and cash bags started. I used to love college football, but I just have very little interest anymore. Iowa/Mizz is the only bowl game I have watched. I’m always dialed in on the NFL and my Chiefs even when we were bad!
How about recruit QBs damn it. How about recruiting multiple WRs and RBs. Every year, like most teams.
Ask Arizona State. They're in the CFP with a 34-year-old head coach who took over a team that had gone 6-18 over the previous two seasons. Iowa just lost a game they should have won by at least two TDs because they have a dinosaur as head coach. Let's see what a bold, creative baby can do. We already know what a conservative, unimaginative old man can do.
That's what moving to the Big 12 can do. Good timing on his part. Sorry, but this year - seeing 6-18 over the last 2 seasons type of team, moving to the Clown conference then winning it.. that just never gets old. 😂😂😂😂😂
I don’t think Arizona St is competing with Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, USC, or even Indiana.
Iowa was at a disadvantage prior to conference expansion and NIL, now the gap has widened and whomever the new coach is in the next few years will face an uphill battle.
The truth that many don’t want to face is that it’s not easy to win at Iowa.
Since we're not competing now, what does it matter? And don't tell me that we were competing for a BIG championship against UM. We were so over matched it was pathetic.
Now that we are in the expanded conference and with the deep pockets a portion of those teams possess, we will never see the top five in the conference standings. And that will be just fine for most on here who are deep in Ferentz's pockets. Personally, I am now a casual follower of the sport I used to be a fanatic about. I just wish my swarm money could go directly to the basketball program as I don't see it adding any real value to the football team. Maybe Kirk can surreptitiously funnel some of his obscene paycheck into the NIL and help his own cause. Just don't let him pick the QBs and WRs from the portal he doesn't really believe in.
I honestly can’t think of two more courageous heroes than you and Ellen DeGeneres. It’s not just that you had the guts to leave. You could have just internalized the magnitude of such a profound action and left quietly. However, you had the wisdom and foresight to see how many lives could be changed by simply having the courage to express yourself for the whole world to see. For that I am truly grateful.
Agree - basketball season can be completely changed with even 1 solid player. Very difficult to do so with football.
Iowa has shown that over the last several years that they can’t compete with the big boys and more often than not, they have embarrassed themselves.
I record the games and watch them when I can. I remember the good ol days when they had dominating offensive lines and improved as the year progressed.
