For those wanting Kirk Ferentz gone

Just remember this when Iowa goes 5 and 7 next year. And 6 and 6 in 2026.
Who are you, Nostradamus ? I think the Hawkeyes will do better than you think they will. Our offense will continue to improve and we will continue to put good defense and special teams out there. You are probably one of the clowns that thought Dylan Raiola was going to torch us. That didn’t happen either. Go Hawks !

The only history we have suggests that Iowa will be good

I only play the lotto to buy out Ferentz' contract. And while he's on his way out he can leave the state too.

What gets old, is watching a coach hanging on to tie or set some coaching record while putting a team on the field every week that has a boring offense with no imagination and running the team into the ground. Hayden Fry's last couple years all over again.
I thought that was a damm exciting second half with a great ending ? You should have got your ass to the game !

Worst thing that can happen over the next few tougher schedule seasons is for Iowa to get 5-6 wins and one of them being against a top team

It would bring the tears and rushing the field and mask the fact that the program is continuing to slide backward

2024 season should be Kirk’s last. He had a chance to really make a statement and failed. Badly.

Now i think he’ll retire once he gets the Big10 win total
That’s the classic Iowa season. Lose four or five games but somehow win a big game like Michigan 2016 or Ohio State 2017. However Brian Ferentz has pretty well took the offense to a place where those types of wins don’t happen anymore.

I’m a person that can look at a schedule and see that we can’t compete against Penn State, Indiana, and Oregon. We can’t win games @USC either. That’s four losses already. Not to mention traveling to Iowa State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Rutgers, all toss up games. Let’s say they win two out of four. That’s six losses already. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah but that doesn't work because all these guys believe it's an impossibility that Iowa's program could actually get better under new coaches. KF is the best we could ever hope for, the best Iowa could ever do, and so we need to hang on to him and pray he never leaves.
No one has said he is the best we could ever hope for but the odds are higher that the next coach won’t be as good. You certainly lack an awareness of the great job Kirk does. The fact that our players kept battling the entire game on a night that nothing seemed to be going right is a credit to his leadership . Go Hawks !

That was a wonderful game! I've watched it three times. Fast forwarding a bit through the first half.

A QB would have been handy, but Shaggy did just enough without turning the ball over.

The tightening around the neck of Debbie's offense is very cool, while the offense finally made a play.

The strip sack and fumble recovery was inevitable. A number of husker podcasts expected a turnover and field goal. It's kind of tradition on black Friday.

We will compete with all of them. Your just pissed that we had a great finish and won last night.

Unbelievable!

Brian hasn't coached the offense in 11 months.

You can't be serious

It’s unbelievable that you can’t see how this season’s offensive performance sits squarely on Brian and Kirk. You think football works like you can just snap your fingers and we are magically an average offensive football team. What are we Indiana football or something?!?

Which is it? First you said brian, now you say Brian and kirk. You do know that Brian was fired don't you?

Try to keep up.

The offensive struggles the past couple seasons had very little to do with Brian.

Certainly, this season would have almost nothing to do with him

When Kirk leaves, I hope Beth doesn't get a splashy hire with a huge contract and a big buyout. Iowa does not need a multi decade coach. Get a great up and comer looking for a chance to prove himself and when they move on to a Notre Dame or Alabama, hire another one.
Create a program that attracts coaches.

Sorry what???? The last couple of seasons of offensive struggles has nothing to do with Brian???

He was in charge of the offense during the worst stretch in program history and possibly college football history haha

He leaves and the offense immediately improves.

So yeah, he was pretty responsible and it’ll take another year or two to purge out the remaining issues….tho Kirk is still the root cause

Lets say we lose two of those games. 10-2. Pretty easy to pull predictions out my butt. You do know that we have had one losing season in the last 23 or so? Only missed one bowl game in that timeframe. Your pessimism isn't well based.

The thing about this season, too, is if Kirk could have found a damn passing game, Iowa is 10-2 at worst right now looking at a playoff berth. THAT’S what many of us are beyond sick of. He just isn’t capable of building a good offense. He sucks at that side of the ball. 8 wins is okay but his continued failures creating a passing game is why good teams kick his ass regularly.

Ponder this. The schools in our region we compete against for recruits usually "out recruit" us. Yet, even with better talent we keep beating them. Fleck, Fickle, Rhule and Campbell are a combined 3-17 against Kirk. With equal or better talent. Hmmmm
Blah blah blah. Time for a change. Even with Lester's improvement this year you can see Kirk stamped all over the offense. Let him get the record next after going 4-8 and he can ride off into the sunset. It's going to be a hard year for my liver. Sorry little buddy

Get back to me when we get into another mid-tier bowl vs. a decently solid SEC team and get our doors blown off... lol.

Do nothing on offense and pray for a defensive and/or special teams miracle. That's the KF way. Lol.

I think people like winning seasons. Wisconsin and Nebraska keep firing coaches. Nebraska in particular has really flourished. Lol. Wisconsin was going to the next level with fickle. Lol. Yeah the next level down.
I know. People on here still talk about the 1970s, even though that was 50 years ago. I’m just saying it’s kind of cowardly to want to keep a coach forever when clearly his best years are behind him (we aren’t even competitive vs legit ranked teams anymore) just because you’re scared we’re going to be Nebraska. No coach should be at any school for 26 years unless they’re winning national championships. I’m pretty sure kids that come here don’t even want to play for just “winning seasons,” when that isn’t hard in 2024.

The Iowa State loss was a debacle and coaching mistakes. Also, Cade is just a bad QB. The Michigan State game was just awful all around, defense was not ready to play. UCLA is probably a better team and it was on the road
Been some impressive wins as well this year.

The Nebraska game is what it is, awful in many ways yet they won. That type of performance against a good team is not going to lead to good results.

Did you watch the game? We started each drive at an average of our 37, Debbie at their 22. A 15 yard advantage before a snap took place - over 11 possessions that's 165 yards of field position. That's the Kirk way.

For all Debbie's offensive stats, they had one score. Just like us. Our defense shut them out the second half and the "miracle" defensive play was no miracle. Max took the ball away from Ravioli with a strip sack and fumble recovery. Pure will.

Lol, and still we only crossed the 50 yard line ONCE the entire game on KJ's amazing catch and run.

The KF Way!

SMU, Boise State, Indiana, and Arizona State (or Iowa State) are predicted to make the college football playoff this year. Serious question for the Ferentz supporters on this board: what advantages to these schools have over poor little Iowa?
