@Clone Fans...what do you think about the new digs?

Agreed. Hadn’t seen them until know but they look good. I wish the Hawks would tweak their regular unis just a touch.
totally disagree. first thought when I saw the thread title was 'again!?!'

just stick with something long enough to make it your brand. the black btw looks nothing like ISU football. Looks like a totally different university.

I like the white ones. The red one is gross to me but I hate red. The blacks are definitely TCU feeling.

I’m watching last years game in Ames and I don’t mind the charcoal uniforms they are wearing.

Today's football players--and athletes in general--seem to like anything as long as it's "different," no matter how bizarre or ugly or downright idiotic it may be. There's no accounting for poor taste.

Starting another clone thread gets no slack.

Feel free to check and see how many threads I start or participate in regarding Iowa State. It’s a pertinent topic that I found interesting. If you don’t want to read or post in a thread, it’s pretty easy to avoid it.

Li'l Debbie has dominated Iowa State! Utter domination according to Nebraska media (from Omaha World Herald two days ago). No. 2 number of games played by Nebraska against an opponent all time. Check out the all-time record between Nebraska and Iowa St!! Unbelievable! I always knew that Nebraska's historical win total is a padded fraud! Page 25 Link:

Honestly nothing.compares to the OU dominance against Iowa State, but I’ll admit I’m still annoyed Iowa State blew an easy conversion to win the last game against nebbie.

Dude, I was just kidding around. No bad blood intended.

I like the whites. The reds are fine - the black collar is odd but not that noticeable. And I’m still dumbfounded they would attempt a black jersey. If you would have told me 5 years ago that Iowa State would introduce a black jersey I would have said you were crazy. I know some other teams are doing it (Arizona State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah, etc off the top of my head), but it still strikes me as a really odd choice when your instate rival has black as its main color. I guess the next step is to organize blackout games where all of the fans wear black as well.

I would like black unis with red shoulder stripes and red helmets. I always liked that look.

Why does Isu keep changing there uniforms- there colors and their logo? Do they seriously think this is going to fix their football team?

I'd say that their football team has been "fixed" already. Not where we want it to be, but it's not bad by any means.

That would have been a lot better IMO. At least then it would have been at least a little bit recognizable as an Iowa State uniform.

I'm a traditionalist (or fuddy-duddy, if you prefer) and I think teams should wear the school colors and the same uniform all season. But everybody says the players love changing every game and doing different things.

mark this day on the calendar. I agree with you LC ;)

I don't follow any of these people that were making such claims. The people I follow are either media types that made a comment one way or the other, or friends that are fans of either school. As you know, with Twitter, if you click on the tweet, you see comments below it. That's where I saw all of this.

But to the point - I don't think there are that many people that like the black ones BECAUSE they think they look cool. The random ISU fans I saw tweeting said they liked the black ones because Hawk fans mocked them for using a color that the school doesn't even have.

Which brings me to this complete "little brother" of a gem, and yes, that is a real quote down below in bold:

https://www.brandmarketing.iastate.edu/brand-elements/color-palette/

Colors associated with other public institutions, such as the one on the eastern side of the state, should not be used.
No doubt, I mean these guys change uniforms, logos, etc every couple of years. (About as often as they change coaches). Hmmmm, Maybe someday they,ll get it right. Until then maybe they,ll go back to those tear away mesh jerseys. Old Crutchfield used to go through five or six of those bad boys every game. Jesssssssss.......

A slight one-year uptick in wins is not a "fix", but whatever trips your trigger.
