Yeah, just like blacks such as Obama's former pastor who was always yelling, "Goddamn America". He now lives in a $10,000,000 home in a gated community or Michele Obama, you know the First Lady, who went to a museum and said to paraphrase, "I wish places like this were more welcoming to people like me".
You kind of took a left turn there. I was never saying there aren't minorities who claim to be oppressed that are not. I'm saying you aren't oppressed by equal opportunity programs.
Affirmative Action is not an equal opportunity program. It's intended to favor members of disadvantaged groups to the detriment of the advantaged group, regardless of whether any particular individuals favored are actually disadvantaged.
Yeah, I forgot the term "Affirmative Action" and didn't want to go back to the first page to look it up since I'd already started typing - I knew equal opportunity didn't sound right. And I've said I'm not defending Affirmative Action, I'm just saying it isn't racist and jerryusc isn't being harmed by it. But if I put on my devil's advocate hat I can kind of see why AA is in place and understand its goals, whether I agree with it's implementation or not. It isn't there to harm white people, it's intended to help minorities, that's all I'm saying.
That's only because I am not in a POSITION to be oppressed. If I was up for a job somewhere that was being watched by the federal bean counters and that pgm was seen by the feds as "not having enough people of a certain color" then even tho I might be more qualified than someone who is not white I would not get the job.
Affirmative action is true and simple racism. It is just not spelled that way.
Blacks and other minorities have been riding this train of liberal racism for years after claiming all they wanted was a "color blind society" and an "equal opportunity to succeed".
A racial group that has been discriminated against in this country for just as long as blacks does not need crybaby help by the feds to succeed. As a matter of fact, this group has higher academic scores and better paying jobs than whites. It just proves that if you have the brain power and are willing to work hard then you can't be held down by "whitey".
Well, he has his paycheck arbitrarily stolen from him, where he's forced to pay for food/housing/clothing/insurance/etc... for other people before he's allowed to pay for himself or his own family. He's not guaranteed the right to due process and/or a fair trial. His life is at risk because this administration has continued the imperialistic campaign that it was given, putting the citizens of the country at risk in order to further the corporations.
If that isn't being oppressed, I really don't want to know what is.
They probably show more favor for Jeb because they'd prefer Jeb to win the Republican nomination. Easier for the Democratic nominee to win.
