Out of curiosity, what are the rules behind coaching at Fargo if there are any?

The reason I ask is I'm pretty sure I saw during Nelson Brand's match that he was being coached by Reiland and Morningstar.

College coaches of all kinds allowed? Was it Fargo where John was coaching JJ last year?

Wondered about that too but I think that if Morningstar is a freestyle coach for HWC, it's ok?

I believe they probably can coach anyone on the state team as long as they are a coach for the state. I believe I have seen Morningstar coach Iowa other years too. It looked like Rutt was one of the Minnesota coaches.

Trent Paulson was coaching the Iowa State freshman (but he is the CWC coach, so not sure that makes a difference) Saw KJ watching some of the matches, but never in the corner

Do recruiting rules even apply to Nelson brands when it comes to Iowa since his father and uncle are on staff?

This thread seems to be talking about two different groups. There are the state coaches that are there to coach the state wrestlers. Some college coaches work as state coaches probably as a recruiting tool and maybe to make a few bucks. College coaches can pay $100 for admission to the tournament and floor access.

M* and Paulson were both team Iowa coaches on staff. They coach any of the Iowa kids they are assigned. It's great to have the college guys on the staff and the club coaches too to go along with the high school coaches.
