Colbert over Welch?

I think Welch was hurt going into the game. I like Colbert starting.
Injury. Welch went through warmups but didn't play. Be interesting to see what happens when both are healthy. Colbert is an impressive looking athlete. Moves very well in space (he was a high school safety).
Kirk said in his post game comments that Welch could have played if needed. He was very complimentary of Colbert's effort.
I can see why the indecision as to who was the starter at Will through camp. They are both solid. Got some depth there.
Yes, Colbert most definitely as he has the speed and can cut on the dime.. plus has a nose for the football.. played a whale of a game for sure
Count me in as pleasantly surprised/shocked at how good out LB play has been this year. I thought it would be a huge issue but so far, so good.
I have been rooting for Welch because of his size and athleticism but Colbert played lights-out today. There is quality depth at LB right now.
Are we going to see Welch slide to the Middle? Lots of speed with 32 and 49 on the edges.
I think Hock has taken over the Mike. Could see Welch back at Will unless coaches feel Colbert is the better option. Colbert is just about the same size as Welch and as much as I been rooting for Welch, Djimon may be the better option. We got some players on defense!
Asking me whether I want Welch or Colbert is like asking whether I want cake or ice cream.
Hockaday played well today. I probably see Welch starting and Colbert playing every third or fourth series.

He was all over the field. Really noticed how active he was. Tough to keep him off the field. LB is not a position of concern this year as many thought.
I think the answer is to petition the NCAA and get permission to run 13 players on defense. Maybe 14.
We need that speed. I hope Colbert stays in the lineup
This is tiresome. Yes, Bower was forced onto the field too early fro lack of depth. He was more than solid as a senior and NFL does not bring crappy players into their camps.
Fullback. Just not sure he’s fluid enough or disciplined enough to play LB at this level.
Our LB depth has gone from weakness to solid. Niemann has been very good. Hockaday, Welch, and Colbert all look ready to play well at this level.
Nice to a senior like Hockaday who has quietly watched his career disaptate in anonymity run with his opportunity.
Colbert did a nice job, especially getting the defense in the right position, when state came out in wild cat formation, the lbs were out of position & he straightened it out b4 the play & then made the play.
Good question. We appear to have talent and a healthy competition for LB playing time. Gotta believe the best guys will rise to the top. What we saw from Colbert yesterday might indicate he deserves the reps.
