I thought he played very well against ISU and solidified his spot. Last night Welch was in and did fine but was a little surprised. Does anyone know the situation at that spot and switching them in and out going to be the new norm?

Both Welch and Colbert played last night ... and I thought that Welch looked better. However, it was good that they both saw extensive reps in the game.
I was very surprised not to see him play last night.. was he dinged up? He’s been playing to well not to get any time at all last night I would think.
Welch had something like 10 plus tackles in the game he started and Colbert had something like half that in the game he started. It's really not that big of a surprise that Welch got his spot back. They both look good out there so far
Welch may be a better fit against power run teams like Wisconsin. Glad to have both though as well as some of the other men on th rise at this key position.
Yep, especially in the second half, when UNI started throwing more.
Welch has been playing pretty damn good. Has done nothing to lose the spot. I swear, some of our fans would see Beyer make a nice catch and start asking why he isn’t playing over Hoc.
Yeah, I'm pleased with both. I think that they'll both develop into really fine players for us.
It’s Kristian’s spot. He earned it and he’s playinv well. Colbert has a ton of time left at Iowa to emerge further.
