I try to error on the side of being kind to players coaches, but why is Wallace still on the team? Is it because shes guaranteed? I mean is she, I really don’t know? And has she just regressed (never saw her before) or just a mistake contract or what?

Maybe something finally "Clicked" whilst she was on the Aussie Olympic team. I don't know. lol.

Because she's on contract and if they cut her it would be dead cap space so you would be paying to have no slot open and no one to play if you need them.

I don’t think she had a great Olympics, but I’m not sure because I don’t typically follow Olympic bball. One if the reason why I had zero interest in CC playing.

Wallace is on the roster to guard against long shot threats. You never know when a kangaroo might get loose in the arena.
She’s also going into the last year of a guaranteed contract. If they cut her, they still pay her and take a cap hit. They can try to trade her, but I’m not sure there is a market for her services.

It seems like the roster is set.

I think there is one more move unless Turner, Brown, and the 2 second round picks are going to have a battle royale for the 11th and final slot. I guess unless the 2nd round picks are used on foreign players who will not be coming this season. Then it would be a battle between Turner and Brown.

I would ease up on Wallace a little. She was in over her head as a starter, but I think she is more than adequate as an end-of-the-bench player.

It's not really her fault that Sides could not recognize that Hull was the better option.

White and Cox see something there.
EDIT: Snooped around a bit over there at Sports Reference and couldn't find anything that stands out or defines her play except for her being a career 40% FG shooter.

All I can comment on is what I saw with my own eyes, and what I saw was mediocre at best. Same for KLS and Smith. If they collectively had historically awful years then I look forward to a rebound from Wallace, if she is still on the team.

Well, to be fair, that didn’t really happen until after the all star break. That’s why, although a fan of Lexie, I’m not at all sold on her being the Truth🤷‍♂️

The upshot of that is that Bonner will start, and Cunningham will likely get some of Hull's minutes, unless Hull can stave her off. If she can, the Fever will be rolling with highly productive players at the 3.

I’m fairly confident Sophie will start
You could be right but I don’t see it, unless Bonner starts at the 4. Bonner is a hall of famer, 3rd leading scorer all time, and can still hoop despite her age. If Bonner doesn’t start I would be shocked. We know who starts at the 1, 2, and 5. At the 4 we have Howard, dantas, and I guess turner now.

Yeah that’s possible, I thought they might bring Bonner off the bench because of Age and she can sub 3/4 either one, depending on need?

The Fever may have to package the 2, 2nd round draft picks and the 3rd round pick to entice someone to take on Wallace's 83k contract.
Also, if that won't work, their options are to cut Brown in camp or trade Dantas.

Or they could, not sign Brown and wait until they have played enough games to reduce their salary cap by $34,829 to then fit Brown under the cap. I'm not sure how many games that would take but I don't think many.

Krauskauf knows what she is doing.

Against the larger teams, I would suspect Howard at 4 and Bonner at 3. Against smaller lineups, I could see Bonner/Cunningham at 3/4, interchangeably

I don't think there is any way they cut Dantas. She is good, already proved she could integrate with big 3, and is killing it overseas right now. Plus, they already chose her over Temi. I agree the front office has it figured out and they obviously know what they are doing.

Agree. Don't touch Dantas, whatever they do. I'll take her size, toughness, and 3 point ability. (33 attempts last year but hit at 39%).

Something to think about, next year 2 more teams are being added , thus I would think teams will save 6 and expose six to the expansion draft. The Fever will lose 2 good players in all liklihood next December.

Dantas is very slow and not exactly a defensive stalwart at either center or forward and she's making 100k which would cover the existing balance ofr Brown and allow for a draft pick to be signed.

Yes , she was ok on LAST years team but she won't measure up on this years team. How much did Dantas play in last years two playoff games?

I'm not against her, but she is an option to get under the cap.

Everyone but Clark and Boston are free agents after this year as is around 90 percent of the league.

Meh…I’m under the impression based on things said by Dantas & CC during the season, Caitlin is a big fan. And she’s money on the 2ndary break

This just in. Kristi Wallace has agreed to sit OUT the 2025 season and will not be paid. The Fever now down to 10 players and have cleared $80,000 in cap space to sign another player. Brown? Or a draft pick..
