Texas Baptist Pastor Arrested On Child Porn Charges​

Austin’s NBC affiliate reports:
A Round Rock pastor was arrested by the FBI on child pornography charges Wednesday, the United States Department of Justice announced. David Lloyd Walther, 56, of Georgetown, was accused of knowingly searching for, downloading, distributing and possessing child pornography, according to the DOJ.
A criminal complaint filed in Austin federal court said Walther downloaded and made child pornography available using BitTorrent, a peer-to-peer file-sharing network. When the incident occurred Walther was the pastor of Faith Baptist Church.
Walther’s charges included distribution, receipt, transportation and possession of child pornography. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Baptist Church Staffer Gets 22 Years For Raping Orphan​

The Baptist Press reports:
A former staff member of the Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services was sentenced to 22 years in prison Nov. 3 in White County Circuit Court. Daniel W. Lanning pled guilty to two counts of criminal sexual assault of a minor ages 13-17. He was arrested in April on four counts involving a teenager in his care at the Carmi facility.
Lanning and his wife were house parents in a BCHFS cottage from July 2021 until the time of his arrest when his employment was terminated. The BCHFS is a not-for-profit ministry founded in 1918 to serve orphaned children in Illinois. BCHFS also operates a home for women with crisis pregnancies.

Sunday School Teacher Arrested On Child Porn Charges​

Seattle’s CBS affiliate reports:
A Redmond Sunday school teacher has been charged with three felony counts of possession of child pornography, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Douglas Meerdink, 70, was charged on Wednesday with three counts of possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Detectives later confirmed Meerdink was an active member of a Redmond church where he was teaching Sunday school classes to second and third grade children.
According to charging papers, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was notified by Yahoo! that a user had uploaded over 2,000 files containing minors in explicit conduct to their service.

Read the full article. Meerdink has a 1980s conviction for “soliciting an underage sex worker.” Excellent vetting on the part of the church, which is identified in the video report below as Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.

The leadership team of Rock Church International cited Romans 3:23 Wednesday as they urged congregants to extend forgiveness to the Rev. John Blanchard following his arrest for solicitation of prostitution last fall.
“As followers of Christ, we must remember that redemption, salvation, grace, mercy, and healing are all gifts given to the children of God. Although everyone must address their own convictions and consequences, our assignment as believers is not to condemn, but to be agents of God’s love, healing, justice, and reconciliation.”
Blanchard, 52, was among 17 men accused of solicitation of prostitution after an online sting operation by police on Oct. 29, 2021. The married father of two was charged with solicitation of prostitution of a minor and use of a vehicle to promote prostitution, both felonies.

TX Youth Pastor Gets Five Years For Underage Sexting​

The Houston Chronicle reports:
Timothy Jason Jeltema, 31, pleaded guilty Thursday to two charges of online solicitation of a minor, one charge of indecency with a child, and one charge of sexual performance by a child, Harris County court records indicate. He is set to serve five years in state prison.
Jeltema was arrested in 2018 about a month after he was fired from his job as student pastor at the North Klein campus of Champion Forest Baptist Church in the Houston area. When the church told congregants Jeltema had been fired, others Jeltema had been in contact with came forward.
Jeltema may have contacted up to 25 girls between the ages of 14 to 17 by sending them explicit photos of himself and requesting nude photos from them through Snapchat and Instagram.

NC Youth Pastor Arrested On Multiple Child Sex Charges​

Charlotte’s NBC affiliate reports:
A youth leader and soccer coach at several Charlotte-area churches was charged with multiple child sex crimes on Friday, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Police charged 36-year-old Benjamin Damron with nine counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of sexual battery. Officers said Damron used his position to take advantage of the victims and sexually assault them.
Three total victims have been identified, all teenage boys, according to police. WCNC is sharing Damron’s arrest photo in the event there are other victims who have not yet come forward. Investigators said that Damron met all three victims through church and assaulted them at public parks or inside his house. CMPD Lt. James Ivie said the abuse happened for as long as five years.

AL Youth Pastor Arrested On 215 Child Porn Charges​

A former children’s minister was arrested in Alabama on 215 counts of possession of child-pornography after police were given a tip. Steve Robert Wukmer, 66, was taken into custody on Monday at his job in Fort Payne, Alabama near the Alabama-Georgia border.
Before moving to Alabama, Wukmer lived in Ohio and worked as a children’s minister. According to his Facebook, he is originally from Dayton, Ohio and moved to Rainsville, Alabama in May 2022.
According to a bio on his blog, Wukmer has been in the ministry for more than twenty-three years, and has served as Pastor, Youth Pastor, Deacon, Christian School Teacher, and in Boy’s Homes as director, assistant director, and teacher.

Do these guys get into priesthood because they're pedo and it gives them access to children? Or because they don't have access to regular sexual outlets they become more likely to molest children?

How can anyone trust ANY pastor ,priest anymore ? If one of my kids, grandkids are attending a function with these people, you better believe i will be in the background protecting them.

The Catholic Church really is the ultimate grooming machine.

They consist solely of unmarried men, and make their followers supply them with pubescent children to take back into their special secret chambers to literally help them change into their robes and get dressed. Then the old pervs shuffle themselves around the country and the world to maintain a constantly supply of fresh young flesh. Can you find anything more creepy?

Less than 5% of Catholic priests were ever accused of abuse.

That's a lower rate than public school teachers. About 5-10% of men in EVERY profession are abusers.

Priests, rabbis, teachers, drag queens, doctors, janitors. Etc. Etc.

Oklahoma Youth Pastor and Principal Sued After Molestation Arrest​

Cody Barlow, a 33-year-old former Wewoka Middle School principal who was arrested in October on child sexual assault charges, is being sued along with the Wewoka School District by an anonymous minor who attended the school and claims that Barlow groomed and abused him, according to KOKH-TV.
“Mr. Barlow had a process of grooming young kids,” attorney Ross Leonoudakis, who is representing the minor, told the outlet. “Grooming young kids to get them comfortable with them, and then sexually abusing them at least on school property.”
The lawsuit alleges that Barlow, who was also a youth pastor, would roughhouse members of the boys’ basketball team and would spend time alone with students in his office. The lawsuit also alleges that Barlow gave special favors and treatment to students he was inappropriately touching, and Leonoudakis believes that there could be other victims.
