A South Carolina priest who served in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston has been charged with federal sex crimes stemming from allegations that he abused an 11-year-old child.
Jaime Adolfo Gonzalez-Farias, known in the church as “Father Gonzalez,” was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Miami. A recently unsealed indictment shows Gonzalez-Farias, 68, was charged with aggravated sexual abuse of children, coercion of a minor, and transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston said they first became aware of an allegation of sexual misconduct with a minor involving Gonzalez-Farias in Dec. 2020 after he had left the country for his home in Chile. The diocese said it notified his parishioners about the abuse allegation in Jan. 2021.
More on this one... Still waiting for all of the links to drag queens sexually molesting children.
A Jacksonville pastor who was arrested in April on multiple sex crimes chargers has pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted sexual battery of a minor. Rafael Cuevas will serve 20 years in Florida state prison and have to serve 10 years of probation after his release.
This was part of a negotiated plea deal, meaning the other charges against him will be dropped. He will also be designated as a sexual predator by the state.
According to the arrest report, authorities received reports that Cuevas had been molesting a child for four years with the last incident being in June 2020 and the first being in 2017. Investigators found that the victim was under 12-years-old during the four years of the alleged abuse.
A former teacher at the Apostolic Christian Academy in Maryville has been arrested on a felony charge that he sexually abused a 14-year-old girl, Knox News has learned. Joseph “Kade” Abbott was arrested in North Carolina and taken to the Blount County jail on Monday.
Knox News received no response to a list of questions sent to senior pastor Kenneth Carpenter. The school’s attorney, Alyssa Minge, did not respond to a list of questions other than to say Abbott was no longer an employee of the school.
Apostolic Christian Academy is the school housed inside First Apostolic Church of Maryville, a mammoth building that towers over William Blount Drive. Abbott is being held on a $200,000 bond. His hearing is Jan. 18.
A former Catholic priest was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison after admitting to possessing thousands of pieces of child pornography and putting them into PowerPoints that he edited over the course of more than a decade.
Father James Beighlie, 72, was a Vincentian priest who most recently served as an associate pastor at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in St. Louis. He pleaded guilty in October to two counts of possession of child pornography. In exchange, prosecutors recommended he receive a prison sentence within a federal guideline range of just over seven years in prison.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Colleen Lang argued Beighlie’s crimes were serious: He spent years cultivating thousands of images and dozens of videos, curating them in PowerPoint presentations that were revised dozens of times.
CBS News reports:
Beighlie created two PowerPoint presentations with graphic titles that linked to thousands of the images. On May 17, 2021, while he was working at the Congregation of the Mission, colleagues found compromising images of Beighlie on a church printer. The church launched an internal investigation. When a private IT support company found what appeared to be videos of minors engaging in sex acts, an attorney for the church contacted the FBI.

There’s much more, including an accounting of an “apology letter” that the victim says she was forced to read to the congregation.A lawsuit filed in Dutchess County Supreme Court under the New York State Adult Survivor’s Act (ASA) accuses the Hyde Park Baptist Church of intentional and negligent acts that resulted in the plaintiff, Shielagh Clark, being a victim of sexual abuse carried out by the church’s former pastor, Jonathan Alan Weaver.
Clark alleges that in November 2000 Pastor Jonathan Weaver began taking her to his private residence on the church grounds under the guise of “counseling.” Instead, according to Clark, the pastor used the meetings to molest, forcibly touch, and sexually abuse the 15-year-old girl.
The pastor was arrested in South Carolina in 2020 on assault and battery charges for his contact with Clark. He entered a guilty plea to the charges in Greenville County.
A former volunteer youth pastor at the Abba’s House church in Hixson and former PTA president at Wolftever Creek Elementary School in Hamilton County now faces child molestation charges and aggravated sexual battery charges.
Hamilton County deputies arrested 34-year-old Dustin Spillers this week. Spillers was extradited to Troup County, Georgia, where he faces those charges.
Spillers was the president of the PTA at Wolftever Creek Elementary School. In a Facebook post, Principal Gail Huffstutler told parents that Spillers “stepped down from his role on the PTA.”
You do know that Townhall is a tabloid, right?
Have you ever checked its media factual rating?
How Factual Is Townhall?
Townhall scored an average Factual Grade of 47.9%, placing it in the 8th percentile of our dataset. A number of factors contribute to these low scores. Critically, many articles lack sufficient evidence, meaning there is sparse sourcing of information in the form of direct quotes or links to relevant, high-quality articles. Some articles include almost no relevant sources at all. Many articles also score poorly due to highly biased language and headlines, suggesting that articles aim to elicit an emotional response rather than neutrally convey information. Finally, the site receives mixed scores for author expertise, which suggests that authors for Townhall either rarely cover the same topics consistently, a sign of low topical expertise, or fail to write high-quality content generally.
I didn't read the details in this updated article but from what was previously reported, its a true story and I know someone who knows one of the guys. They need to go to jail forever and reap the punishment that is awarded by other inmates. For the purposes of this thread, however, I don't know if they are drag queens or trans and it is definitely an isolated incident. I still haven't seen many/any threads of drag queens and trans sexually abusing children which is what the likes of DeSantis and the GQP are basing their discriminatory and likely unconstitutional laws on...
I didn't read the new details, but as I said in my previous reply, it is a real story.Right leaning, yes. Tabloid no.
Are you suggesting this story is made up?
It is a tabloid rag. I will apologize as this story appears to be true. I will eat my words. If you don't think Townhall is a cook rag you are nuts. There are literally links and copies of the indictments and charges in the article. must be nice to never have to read anything you might disagree with and dismiss it all as "tabloid"
You're f.o.s. I don't agree with anything they did and I don't discredit the story or the source you cited for this article. I don't need to read gory details whether it is these monsters or the youth ministers. Edit to add, I don't think gory details need to be published for the world to see with pictures of the children, blurry face or not. There are literally links and copies of the indictments and charges in the article. must be nice to never have to read anything you might disagree with and dismiss it all as "tabloid"
Technically a she. Had sex reassignment surgery.![]()

Jackson’s ABC affiliate reports:A former Rankin County youth pastor pleaded guilty to child exploitation Tuesday morning. Tyler Swaggard, 22, was arrested by Flowood Police Department on two felony counts of child exploitation in December of 2021. Authorities said he solicited explicit photos from youth group members. The arrest came after several complaints from the teens. Swaggard was sentenced to 15 years with seven to serve, officials said.
Pinelake Church released this statement following Swaggard’s arrest: “We are aware of the recent arrest and charges involving a former Pinelake staff member. When the allegations were first brought to our attention, we quickly reported it and began working closely with authorities to assess the situation. These charges are very serious and deeply disturbing. It is a heartbreaking betrayal of our standards, especially from someone in a position of trust. Our priority is to shepherd and care for our church family, and we will continue to work diligently to provide care and support to all those affected by this situation.”
A State College man convicted of raping a child and pressuring a witness to recant the allegations was sentenced Tuesday to at least 20 years in state prison. Jackson C. Baker, 55, was sentenced to a maximum of 40 years in prison. A relative of the child painted Baker through a written statement as a “threat to innocent children. “Spending countless years posing under the facade of a pastor and children’s minister is sickening to say the least,” the woman wrote.
Baker was convicted in September of raping a toddler in 2019. Central to the case was the testimony of Brandon Magusiak, who said he saw Baker forcing the child to perform oral sex. State College police said they found Baker, who has worked as a youth pastor, previously had a number of encounters with law enforcement and Children and Youth Services in multiple states.
