title game, I think you guys can take Michigan or MSU on a neutral field. I know as an undefeated team, you are taking one game at a time but as fans it is fun to look ahead. In my opinion, the Hawkeyes Michigan more likely to beat Michigan than MSU, since Rudock doesn't appear to be able to throw the ball more than 20 yards. As long as you can commit to stopping the run and have good back 7, I think you can beat Michigan.

MSU has a good QB and their receivers are stout. Seems like Connor Cook can simply throw the ball up in the air and his receivers are good enough to get it. You would think he would throw more picks, but he doesn't have too many this year.

Ohio State is a different story all together. Unlike any other team in the Big 10, their QB(s) can make plays with their feet. Guys that have been discussed in the Heisman race in years past. No team in American has stopped them the last 2 years. Their offense is going to get yards and points no matter who it is against. (Unless for some reason Cardale Jones plays the whole game) The only way is to limit big plays and keep the ball out their hands by sustaining clock eating drives.

Anyways sorry for the rambling, but I am rooting for your team to win the Big 10. Being PSU fan and our team being in the Big 10 East, I hate Ohio State and Michigan.

What a whiny sissy you are to make things up to feel better about their inferiority. Why do you hate Michigan and why in the world do you think Iowa will beat Michigan?

Why wouldn't we think we could beat Michigan? It's funny how Michigan fans were so impressed with their team for beating NW, but were so quick to marginalize our equally if not more impressive win over them at their place with 6 starters out. Now after losing to MSU, we hear how the "real" Michigan State finally showed up. The same MSU that has struggled big time against the likes of Purdue, Rutgers, CMU, and Indiana. Maybe the real Michigan team showed up. A team with very limited offensive options. Afterall, they are led by our former back up QB. Michigan could certainly best us. But I see no reason to fear them.

The MSU / OSU game will tell us a lot about our chances "&" how to play them. You never know!!

The only team I worry about is OSU now that they are starting the right QB. I don't worry about either Michigan teams because they don't have a dominant rushing attack and can be made to be one-dimensional. We do have a punchers chance against OSU because I think they would be overconfident. They tend to believe their own press clippings. If they think they can just show up, they will have a rude awakening. This Iowa team is a more complete team in the B1G this year. We may not be the best in every category, but we are more complete overall.

I think the OP's take is probably accurate. We have had great games with MSU and I think we match up well with them. I think we match up well with Michigan as well. Nobody in the country matches up well with OSU.

Ohio St is now playing the right QB, and the team is finally coming out of their stupor caused by extreme boredom from their Sept-Oct schedule. They are obviously starting to turn it up a notch. Even if Iowa goes 12-0 and is playing lights-out, beating Ohio St, a team looking to repeat as national champs and has had our number like no other, would be an upset for the ages.

Probably because Iowa has beat Michigan 4 out the last 5 times they have played.

Thank you Michigan for freeing up a scholarship by taking Jake Rudock off our hands!! It has worked out great!

Firstly, I'm still hoping to see the Hawks continue to improve throughout the season. The promise of this years Hawkeye squad is what excites me the most.

As a fan, if I were to entertain concerns about match-ups, Michigan State is possibly the team that scares me the most. They're good at rushing the passer - and, as it relates to weaknesses in the Hawk D, they have a QB who can win the game with his arm. I'd also contend that Michigan State has the best and most consistent group of WRs. Michigan State would be even more intimidating on O if their OL weren't so banged up.

Michigan's D scares me the most - but their O is one that we could probably dominate. Given our balance, I would like Iowa's chances against Michigan.

Ohio State has excellent pass-rushers, but they're surprisingly soft against the run. I think that Iowa could run against the Buckeyes - and pass just enough to keep them honest. The more interesting match-up is Iowa's D against the Ohio State O. I think that Iowa would be able to limit their running game. The question is whether they'd be able to beat Iowa with their passing game. I don't know. The mobility of the Ohio State QBs would definitely be a concern - however, Iowa has demonstrated pretty good discipline on D.

I honestly believe that if Iowa played their best game - they could beat any of what the Big 10 East has to offer. However, with that said ... Iowa still has to get past Maryland and Indiana.

In order of who I hope Iowa plays, if they make the B1G championship game:

#1 Michigan - beatable
#2 MSU - Toss up
#3 OSU - iowa would be underdog

I want Iowa to play a #1 Ohio State if Iowa makes the B10CG. If they Hawkeyes can pull it out against the #1, it will put to bed the narrative that Iowa has a weak schedule. although admittedly, a few months ago an easy schedule and the number of wins a team should get with it was a topic of heavy conversation around here...thankfully a couple of those teams have proven to be better than we originally thought going into the season.

If Iowa would come out with a win, I can see the national talking heads change the narrative from Iowa's weak schedule to saying that Ohio State wasn't that good anyway.
