Connor McCaffery

It will be interesting to see how teams play Iowa the rest of the year. The strategy by Underwood was basically to not guard anyone other that Garza, Frederick and Wieskamp. Conor stepped up and hit 3-5 from 3-point land. Rest of the team didn't do anything. Kriener has been overall very good this year, Hawks need him to bounce back at Purdue tonight.

Yep, in order for Iowa to beat good teams they need to get what they usually get from their top 3 and then 1 other needs to step up.

Either Connor, Kriener or JT.

Not a big deal, but it seems like the Connor article is on the "HawkeyeMaven" team page on the SI website, as opposed to being part of the national magazine.

I didn't know it existed, and it looks like there some other good stuff on the webpage.

Good, even safer then....

True, yet those 3 still combined to score 61 of the team's 72 points.

Don't disagree. The point of the game is to score more points. Not who gets the most bench points. They kept saying "Ilinois is outscoring Iowa's bench whatever to 0." Well, Iowa's starters outscored Illinois something like 72-36. Iowa is hard to beat if Garza, Frederick and Wieskamp are all playing well.

Given how short it is, our bench will rarely outscore our opponent's bench...
